2011–12 Reading F.C. Season
The 2011–12 season was Reading F.C., Reading Football Club's fourth consecutive season in the Championship since relegation from the Premier League in 2008. It was Brian McDermott (footballer), Brian McDermott's second full season in charge. Despite a poor start, which saw them 23rd in the table at one point, Reading went on to win 17 of 23 games in the second half of the season, securing the Championship title and ensuring promotion back to the Premier League. McDermott was named the League Managers Association Awards, LMA Championship Manager of the Season for the achievement. League Managers Association Awards
The League Managers Association Awards is an annual award ceremony in English football, awarded by the League Managers Association. The most prestigious award is the LMA Manager of the Year award. It is presented to a manager from any division for his achievements in the prior season. The award is voted by fellow professional managers and as a result consideration is also given to managers who inherit poor sides or financial difficulties and not only those managers who do not have such financial constraints and have won trophies. On only five occasions has the Premier League winning manager won the award compared with the Premier League Manager of the Year award which has been won on all but four occasions by the manager of the team who were league champions. Mikele Benjamin Leigertwood (born 12 November 1982) is a former professional footballer who played as a defensive midfielder. Born in England, he represented the Antigua and Barbuda national team at international level. Club career Wimbledon Born in Enfield, Leigertwood began his career with Wimbledon. Perth Glory FC
Perth Glory Football Club is an Australian professional soccer club based in Perth, Western Australia. It competes in the country's premier men's competition, A-League Men, under licence from Australian Professional Leagues. Ryan Edwards (Australian Footballer)
Ryan Marc Edwards (born 17 November 1993) is an Australian professional football player who plays as a midfielder for Spanish club SD Amorebieta. Born in Singapore, Edwards played youth soccer at the Australian Institute of Sport and for Reading before making his professional debut for Perth Glory on loan in 2013. In 2015, Edwards left Reading to join Scottish Premiership club Partick Thistle. Edwards left Thistle after they were relegated in 2018, and signed for Hearts. Scott Myles Edward Davies (born 10 March 1988) is an Irish professional football manager and player who played as a midfielder. He is currently manager of Slough Town. Julian Kelly (born 6 September 1989) is an English footballer who plays for Grantham Town. Club career Born in London, Kelly was with Arsenal until the age of 16 when he joined Reading as a scholar in June 2006. He finished the 2007–08 season with 27 appearances in the Reading reserves, playing in the position of left back.
