The 2011–12 Israeli Basketball State Cup was the 52nd edition of the Israeli Basketball State Cup, organized by the Israel Basketball Association. A total of 26 teams took part in the competition. The semifinals and finals were played at the Nokia Arena in Tel Aviv. Maccabi Tel Aviv defeated Maccabi Rishon LeZion 82-69 in the final, successfully defending their title. It was Maccabi Tel Aviv's 38th Israeli State Cup. Israeli Basketball State Cup
The Israeli Basketball State Cup ( he, גביע המדינה בכדורסל) is the second most important professional basketball competition in Israel, after the Israeli Basketball Super League, Israeli Super League. It is the national federation cup of Israel. The tournament began in the 1955–56 season, and is run by the Israel Basketball Association. In the 21–22 season, the tournament format was changed so that only the first 8 teams at the end of the first rotation of the Israeli Basketball Premier League will compete. The quarter-final matches will be drawn between the teams in places 1-4 against 5-8 for a one-game elimination match. Lior Eliyahu ( he, לִיאוֹר אֱלִיָּהוּ; born 9 September 1985) is an Israeli former professional basketball player. He is 2.06 m (6 ft 9 in) in height and he weighs 105 kg (225 pounds).
