2011–12 Idaho Vandals Men's Basketball Team
The 2011–12 Idaho Vandals men's basketball team represented the University of Idaho during the 2011–12 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team played the first part of their season at Memorial Gym while waiting for the football season to end, then played where the football team plays in the Cowan Spectrum in Moscow, Idaho. They are members of the Western Athletic Conference and were led by fourth-year head coach Don Verlin. They finished the season 19–14, 9–5 in WAC play to finish in third place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the WAC Basketball tournament to Hawaii. They were invited to the 2012 CollegeInsider.com Tournament where they defeated UC Santa Barbara in the first round before falling in the second round to fellow WAC member Utah State. Don Verlin
Donald Gene Verlin (born June 15, 1965) is an American college basketball coach who was most recently the head coach at the Idaho Vandals men's basketball, University of Idaho from 2008 to 2019. Prior to Idaho, Verlin was an assistant coach at Colorado State Rams men's basketball, Colorado State, Utah State Aggies men's basketball, Utah State, and Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners men's basketball, Cal State Bakersfield. Early life and education Born in Roseville, California, Verlin graduated from Del Oro High School in Loomis, California, Loomis in 1983. He graduated from California State University, Stanislaus in 1991 with a bachelor's degree in physical education and Colorado State University in 1993 with a master's degree in education. The Walter Pyramid, formerly known as The Long Beach Pyramid, is a 4,000-seat, indoor multi-purpose arena on the campus of Long Beach State University in Long Beach, California. History The Walter Pyramid was officially opened on November 30, 1994, when it hosted a Long Beach State men's basketball game against the Detroit Titans, which aired live on ESPN. 2011–12 Long Beach State 49ers Men's Basketball Team
The 2011–12 Long Beach State 49ers men's basketball team represented California State University, Long Beach during the 2011–12 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The 49ers, led by fifth year head coach Dan Monson, played their home games at Walter Pyramid and are members of the Big West Conference. They finished the season 25–9, 15–1 in Big West play to be crowned regular season champions. They were also champions of the Big West Basketball tournament to earn the conference's automatic bid into the 2012 NCAA tournament where they lost in the second round to New Mexico. The 49ers were the only Los Angeles-area college basketball team to make the tournament that year. The Evergreen State College
The Evergreen State College is a public liberal arts college in Olympia, Washington.
