2011–12 EHF Champions League
The 2011–12 EHF Champions League was the 52nd edition of Europe's premier club handball tournament and the nineteenth edition under the current EHF Champions League format. FC Barcelona were the defending champions. The final four was played on 26–27 May 2012. For the third consecutive year it will be played at the Lanxess Arena in Cologne. THW Kiel won the title for the third time after defeating Atlético Madrid 26–21 in the final. EHF Champions League
The Men's EHF Champions League is the most important club handball competition for men's teams in Europe and involves the leading teams from the top European nations. The competition is organised every year by EHF. The official name for the men's competition is the EHF Champions League Men. The EHF coefficient rank decides which teams have access and in which stage they enter. Eligibility and qualifying Each year, the EHF publishes a ranking list of its member federations. The first 9 nations are automatically permitted to participate in the tournament with their national champion. Abanca Ademar León is a Spanish handball team based in León, Spain. It plays in Liga ASOBAL. History Founded in 1956, Ademar León is the handball team of the city of León. Until 1975 it played in the provincial categories when not existing economic availability to be able to promotion. Rokometni klub Koper ( en, Koper Handball Club), commonly referred to as RK Koper or simply Koper, was a handball club from Koper, Slovenia. Koper played their home matches at Bonifika Hall. The team was dissolved in 2013 due to high financial debt. The team was also known as Cimos Koper due to sponsorship reasons. In 2013, a new club, named RD Koper 2013, was established.
