2011–12 Cypriot Third Division
The 2011–12 Cypriot Third Division was the 41st season of the Cypriot third-level football league. AEK Kouklia won their 1st title. Format Fourteen teams participated in the 2011–12 Cypriot Third Division. All teams played against each other twice, once at their home and once away. The team with the most points at the end of the season crowned champions. The first three teams were promoted to the 2012–13 Cypriot Second Division and the last three teams were relegated to the 2012–13 Cypriot Fourth Division. However, in the summer, because APOP Kinyras (which would participate in the 2012–13 Cypriot Third Division) was relegated to the 2012–13 Cypriot Fourth Division after FIFA's decision, the 12th placed team Achyronas Liopetriou played a single relegation playoff match against the 4th placed team of the 2011–12 Cypriot Fourth Division, P.O. Cypriot Third Division
The Cypriot Third Division (Greek: Πρωτάθλημα Γ΄ Κατηγορίας) is the third tier football league competition in Cyprus, run by the Cyprus Football Association. Each year, the top finishing teams of the league are promoted to the Cypriot Second Division, and the lowest finishing teams are relegated to the STOK Elite Division. History The Cypriot Third Division was held for the first time in the 1970–71 season as the third level of the Cypriot football. All the teams played against each other twice, once at their home and once away. The team with the most points at the end of the season crowned champions. This is the league's current format until present time. The only season when the championship not held was during the 1974–75 season. Elpida Xylofagou
Elpida Xylofagou is a Cypriot football club based in the village of Xylofagou in Larnaca district. The club, which was established in 1959, currently competes in the Cypriot Second Division, after a successful campaign in the Cypriot Third Division, from which it gains the promotion. ASIL Lysi ( el, ΑΣΙΛ Λύσης) is a Cypriot football club which was established in the town of Lysi, Famagusta. After the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974, ASIL became a refugee team and is temporarily based in Larnaca. The club plays in the Cypriot Third Division. History The club was founded in Lysi, Famagusta on June 26, 1932. Club founders were Ch. Fokaides, Ch. Panayides, K. Rousi and N. Petrou.
