The 2011–12 CAA men's basketball season marked the 27th season of Colonial Athletic Association men's basketball, taking place between November 2011 and March 2012. Practices commenced in October 2011, and the season ended with the 2012 CAA men's basketball tournament. NCAA Division I (D-I) is the highest division of intercollegiate athletics sanctioned by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the United States, which accepts players globally. D-I schools include the major collegiate athletic powers, with large budgets, more elaborate facilities and more athletic scholarships than Division II and Division III as well as many smaller schools committed to the highest level of intercollegiate competition. 2011–12 Old Dominion Monarchs Basketball Team
The 2011–12 Old Dominion Monarchs basketball team represented Old Dominion University during the 2011–12 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Monarchs, led by 11th year head coach Blaine Taylor, played their home games at Ted Constant Convocation Center, with one home game during the CIT at Norfolk Scope Arena, and are members of the Colonial Athletic Association. They finished the season 22–14, 13–5 in CAA play to finish in fourth place. They lost in the semifinals of the CAA Basketball tournament to Drexel. Bruiser Flint
James "Bruiser" Flint (born July 23, 1965) is an American men's college basketball coach, currently an assistant coach at Arkansas Razorbacks men's basketball, Arkansas. He was most recently the head coach at Drexel University. Collegiate playing career Flint is a 1987 graduate of Saint Joseph's University. While attending St. Joe's, Flint was a member of the school's varsity basketball team. Flint was named to the all-Atlantic 10 Conference, Atlantic 10 team as a senior, and was inducted into the St. Joe's athletic hall of fame in 1988. Early coaching career In 1987, Flint became an assistant coach at Coppin State University. Devon Marquis Saddler (born October 27, 1992) is an American-born, naturalized Belarusian former professional basketball player. He played college basketball for the University of Delaware before playing professionally in Italy, Greece, Hungary, Belarus and Israel. Chris Fouch
Chris Fouch (born December 3, 1990) is an American basketball player who currently plays for BK Iskra Svit. He was named to the Second Team All-CAA following the 2013–14 season as a sixth-year senior, and was also named CAA Rookie of the Year in 2010 playing for Drexel University. Following his last season at Drexel, he ranked fifth on the school's career scoring list with 1,744 points. High school Fouch attended Rice High School in Harlem, New York. Quinn Thomas McDowell (born January 13, 1990) is an American former professional basketball player and current head coach of the Baylor School's boys' team in Chattanooga, Tennessee, a position he has held since 2024. Professional career In January 2013, McDowell signed with the Willetton Tigers in Australia for the 2013 State Basketball League season. Samme Givens (born August 9, 1989) is an American professional basketball player for Oberá Tenis Club of the La Liga Argentina de Básquet (LLA). Bradford Burgess (born April 29, 1990) is an American professional basketball player who last played for Liège Basket of the Pro Basketball League. Kenneth Lamont Bazemore Jr. (born July 1, 1989) is an American professional basketball player for the Capital City Go-Go of the NBA G League. As a junior at Old Dominion University in 2010–11, Bazemore won the Lefty Driesell Award, an award given to the best defensive player in college basketball.
