The 2011–12 Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 2 is the second season of the league under its current title and current league division format. This is the forty-eighth season of second-division football since its establishment in 1962. A total of 16 teams are to contest in the league. The league started on 9 September 2010 and is scheduled to conclude on 17 May 2012. Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 2
The Algerian Ligue 2, also called Ligue 2 , formerly known as Ligue Professionnelle 2 and Championnat National 2, is the second highest division overall in the Algerian football league system. It was professional from 2010 to 2020. History The league was created in 1962, when Algeria became an independent nation, and has been played in a number of different formats. In 2010, the league became fully professional. Prior to the start of the 2010 season, the name of the league was changed to the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 2 to reflect the professionalization of the league. On 15 December 2011, six clubs from the league were sanctioned by the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) for not responding to their set deadline (7 December 2011) in solving the disputes between their players. Chabab Riadhi Témouchent ( ar, شباب رياضي تموشنت), known as CR Témouchent or simply CRT for short, is an Algerian football club based in Aïn Témouchent. Merouana
Merouana (Tamazight: Tamerwant) is a city in Batna Province, Algeria. It is situated around 40 km from Batna City, and is inhabited by the Chaoui Berbers. Merouana is one of the oldest local daïras (districts). It is the capital of the Belzma Plain and Belzma National Park. Origin and history The city's founding date back to the era of the Romans in 127 when it was called Lamasba. It was a fortress which was damaged by Vandals. Olympique de Médéa ( ar, أولمبي المدية), also known as 'O Médéa or simply OM for short, is an Algerian football club based in Médéa. The club was founded in 1945 and its colours are orange and blue.
