The 2011–12 season was the 85th season in ACF Fiorentina's history and the club's 74th season in the top-flight of Italian football. Fiorentina competed in Serie A, finishing a disappointing 13th, and was eliminated in the round of 16 in the Coppa Italia. ACF Fiorentina
ACF Fiorentina, commonly referred to as Fiorentina (), is an Italian professional Association football, football List of football clubs in Italy, club based in Florence, Tuscany. The original team was founded by a merger in August 1926, while the current club was refounded in August 2002 following bankruptcy. Fiorentina have played at the top level of Italian football for the majority of their existence; only four clubs have played in more Serie A seasons. Artur Boruc
Artur Boruc (; born 20 February 1980) is a Polish former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Boruc began his career in the Polish third division with hometown club Pogoń Siedlce. He joined Ekstraklasa team Legia Warsaw in 1999 and, whilst still a reserve, had a spell on loan at Dolcan Ząbki in 2000. Boruc broke through to the Legia first team in 2002 and by 2003 had become the club's first choice goalkeeper. In the summer of 2005, he joined Scottish Premier League side Celtic. In his five years in Glasgow, Boruc made 221 appearances for the club, winning the league three times, the Scottish Cup once and the Scottish League Cup twice. Cesare Natali (born 5 April 1979) is an Italian former professional footballer who played as a centre-back. Club career Atalanta Natali started his career at Atalanta. He scored the opening goal in the relegation playoffs second legs in June 2003, but Atalanta eventually lost 2–1 and relegated to Serie B. Alessandro Gamberini (; born 27 August 1981) is an Italian former professional footballer who played as a central defender. He is working as assistant coach for Virtus Verona. In the sport of association football, a defender is an outfield player whose primary role is to stop attacks during the game and prevent the opposition from scoring. Per Billeskov Krøldrup (; born 31 July 1979) is a Danish former professional footballer who played as a defender. He has played 33 games for the Denmark national team, and was part of their squad for the 2004 European Championship. ACF Fiorentina Youth Sector () comprises the under-20 team and the academy of Italian professional football club ACF Fiorentina. The side currently compete in the Campionato Primavera 1, which they have won three times, and the Coppa Italia Primavera, which they won eight times. Additionally, they have won the Supercoppa Primavera three times, most recently in 2022. The club has also taken part in the annual Torneo di Viareggio, an international tournament of which they are eight-time winners. The Youth Sector is made up of various squads divided by age groups.
