2011 Úrvalsdeild
The 2011 Úrvalsdeild (also known as the "Pepsi deild" for sponsorship reasons) is the 100th season of top-tier football in Iceland.The season began on 2 May 2011 and concluded on 1 October 2011. Breiðablik are the defending champions, having won their first league championship. Teams A total of twelve teams will contest the league, including ten sides from the 2010 season and two promoted teams from the 1. deild karla. Haukar and Selfoss were relegated from 2010 Úrvalsdeild after finishing the season in the bottom two places of the league table. Both teams were relegated having just achieved promotion the season before. 2010 1. deild karla champions Víkingur R. and runners-up Þór Akureyri secured direct promotion to the Úrvalsdeild.Víkingur returned to the Úrvalsdeild after a three-year absence while Þór return to the top league after an eight-year absence. Pepsi
Pepsi is a carbonated soft drink manufactured by PepsiCo. Originally created and developed in 1893 by Caleb Bradham and introduced as Brad's Drink, it was renamed as Pepsi-Cola in 1898, and then shortened to Pepsi in 1961. History Pepsi was first invented in 1893 as "Brad's Drink" by Caleb Bradham, who sold the drink at his drugstore in New Bern, North Carolina. It was renamed Pepsi-Cola in 1898, "Pepsi" because it was advertised to relieve dyspepsia (indigestion) and "Cola" referring to the cola flavor. Some have also suggested that "Pepsi" may have been a reference to the drink aiding digestion like the digestive enzyme pepsin, but pepsin itself was never used as an ingredient to Pepsi-Cola. The original recipe also included sugar and vanilla. Bradham sought to create a fountain drink that was appealing and would aid in digestion and boost energy. UMF Selfoss
Ungmennafélag Selfoss, commonly known as Selfoss or UMF Selfoss, is an Icelandic multisport club, located in the town of Selfoss in the Southern Region. In May 2019, the Selfoss men's handball team won the national handball championship for the first time. In August 2019, the women's football team added the club's second major title in one year when it won the Icelandic Football Cup. History Ungmennafélag Selfoss (English: Selfoss' Youth Club) was established on 1 June 1936, as a general sports club for young men and women under the name Ungmennafélagið Tíbrá. On 26 January 1937 its name was changed to Ungmennafélag Selfoss.
