2011 Welsh Conservatives Leadership Election
The 2011 Welsh Conservatives leadership election was held on 14 July 2011. Andrew RT Davies defeated Nick Ramsay, the only other candidate. Following the 2011 Assembly election the party's leader Nick Bourne lost his Mid and West Wales seat. Paul Davies then became the interim leader whilst an election took place. The contest then consisted of Andrew RT Davies ( South Wales Central) against Ramsay (Monmouth). Andrew RT Davies won with some 53.1 per cent of the vote on a 49 per cent turnout of the party's Welsh membership. Candidates Result The conservative Party did not release the raw vote figures only the percentages won. William Graham (Welsh Politician)
William Graham JP FRICS (born 18 November 1949 in Newport, Monmouthshire) is a Welsh Conservative politician, former Shadow Leader of the House in the National Assembly for Wales, Opposition Chief Whip and Shadow Minister for Social Services. Early and personal life William Graham was born to the late William Douglas Graham and Eleanor Mary Scott (née Searle). Educated at Blackfriars School, and the College of Estate Management, he is the sixth generation principal of a family firm of surveyors in Newport established in 1844. Graham is a fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, and has been Chairman of Newport Harbour Commission and Rougemont School Trust, Newport. He is also a member of the Listed Building Advisory Committee, the Rent Assessment Committee for Wales. He was appointed Justice of the Peace in 1979, and is a member of the Carlton Club. Suzy Davies
Suzy Davies (born 3 January) is a Welsh Conservative Party politician, who served as a Member of the Senedd (MS) for South Wales West from 2011 to 2021. She was elected first on the Welsh Conservatives party list for the region in the 2011 election. Background Suzy Davies was born in Swansea, and grew up in Bridgend, Aberdare, Cardiff, and Brecon. A graduate of Exeter University and the University of Glamorgan (the latter now the University of South Wales), she is married with two sons. After a career in both marketing and management, she became a solicitor. She has trained as a mentor for young offenders and has mentored with Prime Cymru. Torfaen (; cy, Torfaen ) is a county borough in the south-east of Wales. Cwmbran ( ; cy, Cwmbrân , also in use as an alternative spelling in English) is a town in the county borough of Torfaen in South Wales. Lying within the historic boundaries of Monmouthshire, Cwmbran was designated as a New Town in 1949 to provide new employment opportunities in the south eastern portion of the South Wales Coalfield.
