The Barnsley Metrodome (Metrodome Leisure Complex) is a sports and leisure facility that was opened in 1989 by Neil Kinnock. Peter Wright (born 10 March 1970) is a Scottish professional darts player who plays in the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC), where he is currently ranked No. 2 in the world. Nicknamed "Snakebite", he is regarded as one of the greatest players of all time and is a two-time world champion, having won the PDC World Darts Championship in 2020 and 2022. He is also a World Matchplay champion. Andrew Smith (born 22 June 1967) is an English former professional darts player. He used the nickname The Pie Man for his matches. His best performances came in the "floor" events (non-televised tournaments with many boards being used simultaneously), where he won six PDC Pro Tour titles. Career A former England international, Smith won the England, Welsh and Norway Opens in his early career, as well as qualifying for the British Darts Organisation version of the world championship on four occasions (losing in the first round each time), before switching from the BDO to the PDC. Dave Ladley
Dave Ladley (born 29 September 1975) is an English darts player that competes in Professional Darts Corporation events. Career Ladley joined the PDC in 2002, and qualified for the 2004 UK Open, where he lost to Barrie Bates in the second round. Ladley qualified for the 2007 PDC World Darts Championship at the Circus Tavern in Purfleet. He defeated Lionel Sams 3-1 in the first round, before losing 3-4 to James Wade in the second round. Ladley had two darts to win at one point, before Wade came back and won in a sudden death leg. After the tournament, Ladley earned a sponsorship deal with a local entrepreneur and decided to join the PDC Pro Tour. Michael Rosenauer
Michael "Mike" Rosenauer (born July 13, 1966) is a former professional German darts player who has played in the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. Career Rosenauer created controversy when he chose to play in the 2008 PDC World Darts Championship, having won qualification for the 2008 BDO World Darts Championship. Rosenauer claimed one of the places for the event at the Lakeside, but at the same time, he topped the German Darts Corporation Order of Merit, which grants a place in the PDC World Championship and in the end, he withdrew from the BDO World Championship to play in the PDC version instead. Simon Whitlock
Simon Whitlock (born 3 March 1969) is an Australian professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) tournaments, having also played in the British Darts Organisation (BDO) between 2004 and 2009. He uses the nickname The Wizard for his matches. His walk-on music is "Down Under" by Men at Work. His greatest achievements to date are winning the 2012 European Championship and 2022 World Cup of Darts for Australia with Damon Heta. Adrian Lewis
Adrian Lewis (born 21 January 1985) is an English professional darts player currently playing in the PDC. He is a two-time PDC World Darts Champion, winning in 2011 and 2012. Mark "Flash" Dudbridge (born 11 January 1973) is an English professional darts player. He appeared in the 2005 Premier League Darts after reaching the final of the 2005 PDC World Darts Championship. Peter David Manley (born 7 March 1962) is an English former professional darts player who played in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events from July 1996 until 2017. He won one major title, the Las Vegas Desert Classic, in 2003, and twice held the number one ranking. Brendan Dolan
Brendan Gabriel Dolan (born 2 August 1973) is a Northern Irish professional darts player from County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland, who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He is best known for becoming the first player to hit a nine-dart finish in a "double-to-start" event (Where a player must hit a double, with a maximum value of 40, to begin play, as opposed to the traditional free choice, 60 point maximum first dart), which he did at the 2011 World Grand Prix.
