2011 South American Youth Championship
The 2011 South American Youth Championship ( es, Campeonato Sudamericano Sub-20 “Juventud de America” Perú 2011, pt, Campeonato Sul-Americano Sub-20 “Juventude da America” Peru 2011) was a football competition for U-20 national teams in the South America (CONMEBOL). The tournament was held in Peru from 16 January to 12 February. The top 4 teams qualified for the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Colombia. In addition, the top 2 teams qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics, to be held in London, United Kingdom. As hosts of the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup, Colombia automatically qualified. Tacna was known for its mining industry; it had significant deposits of sodium nitrate and other resources. Its economic prosperity attracted a wave of immigrants from Italy. Today, their Italian Peruvian descendants live in the city and many of them still have Italian surnames. Wilmar Alexander Roldán Pérez (; born 24 January 1980 in Remedios, Antioquia) is a Colombian football referee. He was ranked the World's 7th Best Referee of 2015 by the IFFHS. He has been a referee in the domestic league since 2003 and became a FIFA International in 2008.
