2011 Scream Awards
The 2011 Scream Awards was the name of the seventh annual Scream Awards, an award show dedicated to the horror, sci-fi, and fantasy genres of feature films, television and comic books. The event was taped October 15, 2011 on the Universal Studios lot and aired as a two-hour show on October 18 on Spike. ''Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2'' and '' X-Men: First Class'' led the nominees with 14 nominations each. Other notable nominees included '' Captain America: The First Avenger'' (11 nominations), ''Thor'' (nine), ''True Blood'' (seven), ''Game of Thrones'' (seven) and AMC’s '' The Walking Dead'' (six). Scream Awards
The Scream Awards was an award show dedicated to the horror, sci-fi, and fantasy genres of feature films. Originally only having ''Scream Queen'' and ''Heroic Performance'' awards for actors, the personnel awards have expanded to include actors and actresses of all three recognized genres. Comic books awards were also given and have been recently expanded. It was broadcast on Spike and has been branded in the past as the Spike TV Scream Awards. Subsequently, the show was relabeled simply ''Scream'' with the respective year, i.e. Scream 2009. The show was created by executive producers Michael Levitt, Cindy Levitt, and Casey Patterson. The Scream Awards ceremonies were discontinued after 2011. Production Award coverage includes the year between the previous awards show and the live ceremony in October of each year. Paramount Network is an American basic cable television channel owned by the MTV Entertainment Group unit of Paramount Media Networks. The network's headquarters are located at the Paramount Pictures studio lot in Los Angeles. ''Monsters'' is a 2010 British science-fiction horror film written and directed by Gareth Edwards (in his feature directorial debut). Edwards also served as the cinematographer, production designer, and a visual effects artist. The film takes place years after a NASA probe crashed in Mexico, which leads to the sudden appearance of giant tentacled monsters. It follows Andrew Kaulder (Scoot McNairy), an American photojournalist tasked with escorting his employer's daughter Samantha Wynden (Whitney Able) back to the United States by crossing through Mexico's "Infected Zone", where the creatures reside. Edwards conceived the idea for the film after seeing fishermen attempt to bring a creature in with a net, and imagining a monster inside.
