2011 Scottish League Cup Final
The 2011 Scottish League Cup Final was the final match of the 2010–11 Scottish League Cup, the 65th season of the Scottish League Cup. It was played by Old Firm rivals Celtic F.C., Celtic and Rangers F.C., Rangers. Rangers won the trophy after Overtime (sports)#Association football, extra time 2–1. Route to the Final Celtic As Celtic F.C., Celtic had been competing in Europe, they entered the competition in the third round. 2010–11 Scottish League Cup
The 2010–11 Scottish League Cup is the 65th season of Scotland's second-most prestigious football knockout competition, the Scottish League Cup, also known as the Co-operative Insurance Cup for sponsorship reasons. The competition started in July 2010 with the First Round and ended in Spring 2011 with the Final. Rangers F.C., Rangers are the current title holder, having beaten Celtic F.C., Celtic in the 2011 final. Format The competition is a Single-elimination tournament, single elimination knock-out competition. In each round, fixtures are determined by random draw. Fixtures are played to a finish, with Overtime (sports), extra time and then penalties used in the event of ties. Perth ( locally: ; gd, Peairt ) is a city in central Scotland, on the banks of the River Tay. It is the administrative centre of Perth and Kinross council area and the historic county town of Perthshire. It had a population of about 47,430 in 2018. Kyle Joseph George Lafferty (born 16 September 1987) is a Northern Irish professional footballer who currently plays for NIFL Premiership club Linfield and the Northern Ireland national team. The Scottish Football League First Division was the second tier in the Scottish football league system between 1975 and 2013. The 2009 Scottish League Cup Final was the final match of the 2008–09 Scottish League Cup, the 62nd season of the Scottish League Cup. The match was played at Hampden Park, Glasgow on 15 March 2009, and was won by Celtic, who beat Old Firm rivals and Cup holders, Rangers, 2-0 after extra time. Charlie Mulgrew
Charles Patrick Mulgrew (born 6 March 1986) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Scottish Premiership side Dundee United. Kristian Arran Commons (born 30 August 1983) is an English-born Scottish professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. Commons started his career at Stoke City and made his debut in 2000. After four years with the club, he rejected a new contract and signed for Nottingham Forest on a free transfer.
