2011 Players Championship
The 2011 Players Championship was a golf tournament in Florida on the PGA Tour, held at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, southeast of Jacksonville. It was the 38th Players Championship. K. J. Choi defeated David Toms on the first hole of a sudden-death playoff to claim his first PGA Tour title since 2008. Traditionally, the flag of the defending champion (2010 winner Tim Clark of South Africa) flies at TPC Sawgrass during the week of the Players. As a tribute to the recently deceased Seve Ballesteros, per Clark's request, the PGA Tour flew the Spanish flag in its place. Clark withdrew during the second round due to nagging elbow problems. 2011 PGA Tour
The 2011 PGA Tour was the 44th season since the Tour became independent from the PGA of America. The season consisted of a total of 49 sanctioned events running from early January to late November. The schedule was announced on December 2, 2010 and had four phases: * Regular season – Consisted of 37 events (one less than in 2010) and started on January 6 with the limited-field Hyundai Tournament of Champions (known as the SBS Championship in 2010) and ended with the Wyndham Championship on August 21. * FedEx Cup Playoffs – As in previous seasons, this was a series of four tournaments. Robert Garrigus
Robert Garrigus (born November 11, 1977) is an American professional golfer who is currently a member of the PGA Tour. He won the 2010 Children's Miracle Network Classic, the last event of the PGA Tour season, to guarantee exempt status on the PGA Tour through the end of the 2012 season. Garrigus is one of the longest drivers in the golfing world, with an average drive of 310.5 yards in 2007. He is one of the few players who can hit a ball over 350 yards. James Michael Furyk (born May 12, 1970) is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour and the PGA Tour Champions. Jason Day
Jason Day (born 12 November 1987) is an Australian professional golfer, PGA Tour member and winner of the 2015 PGA Championship. He is a former world number one in the World Golf Ranking, having first achieved the ranking in September 2015. Jonathan Byrd (golfer)
Jonathan Currie Byrd (born January 27, 1978) is an American professional golfer. He was the 2002 PGA Tour Rookie of the Year, and has won five times on the PGA Tour. Biography Byrd was born in Anderson, South Carolina. He attended Clemson University from 1997 to 2000. During his Clemson career, Byrd was the first four-time First Team All-ACC player in Clemson history and was named a First Team All-America in 1999. Michael Bradley (golfer)
Michael John Bradley (born July 17, 1966) is an American professional golfer. Bradley was born in Largo, Florida. He attended Oklahoma State University and turned professional in 1988. After turning professional, Bradley joined the Canadian Tour. He won the 1989 Ontario Open and the 1990 Quebec Open. He also shot a 59 in an event in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Matt Bettencourt (born April 12, 1975) is an American professional golfer. Born in Alameda, California, Bettencourt turned professional in 2001 after attending Modesto Junior College. In 2008, Bettencourt won twice on the Nationwide Tour, at the Oregon Classic in September and a month and a half later at the season-ending Nationwide Tour Championship at TPC Craig Ranch. Arjun Singh Atwal (born 20 March 1973) is an Indian professional golfer who has played on the Asian Tour and the European Tour and is the first player born in India to become a member of, and later win a tournament on the U.S.-based PGA Tour.
