2011 Pan American Judo Championships
The 2011 Pan American Judo Championships was held in Guadalajara, Mexico at the CODE II Gymnasium from April 1–2, 2011. The event is being held as a test event for the 2011 Pan American Games. Also this event is one of the qualification event for the judo events at the 2011 Pan American Games. Pan American Judo Championships
The Pan American Judo Championships are continental judo Championships organized by the Pan American Judo Confederation since 2009. Previous championships were organized by the Panamerican Judo Union. From 2022 they are renamed to Pan American-Oceania Judo Championships. Bruno Silva Mendonca (born 4 April 1985 in Santos, São Paulo) is a Brazilian judoka. He won the gold medal in the 2011 Pan American Games in the Lightweight category of the Judo. Leonardo Leite
Leonardo "Leo" Leite (born March 23, 1978, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) is a retired Brazilian judoka, jiu jitsu practitioner, and mixed martial artist. Martial arts career Judo Leite began his career in judo in 1984 at the Federal Club under Omar Brazil. In 1988, at age 10, he transferred to the Clube de Regatas do Flamengo and began to participate in official competitions of the Judo Federation of Rio de Janeiro and the Brazilian Judo Confederation. In 1997, he achieved a place in the Brazilian junior national team, and in 1998 the first call for leading the Brazilian judo team, which he continued until 2012. Leite also works as a TV commentator for Judo and MMA events. Oreidis Despaigne Terry (born 20 September 1981) is a male judoka from Cuba, winner of the Pan American Games men's half heavyweight division at the 2007 Games, he also won the bronze medal at the 2003 Pan American Games and at the 2007 and 2010 World Championships. José Gregorio Camacho Lascarro (born April 26, 1983 in Barinas) is a Venezuelan judoka, who played for the middleweight category. He is a two-time Olympian, a three-time medalist at the Pan American Judo Championships, and a bronze medalist for his division at the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Camacho made his official debut for the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, where he lost the first preliminary match of men's middleweight class (90 kg), with an ippon and a kuchiki-taoshi (single leg takedown), to Argentina's Eduardo Costa. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he won the silver medal in the Men's 90 kg competition. Antoine Valois-Fortier (born 13 March 1990) is a Canadian retired judoka who won the bronze medal in the −81 kg category at the 2012 Olympics, becoming the first Canadian to win a medal in Olympic judo in twelve years and the fifth to win one in Canadian history. Emmanuel "Emma" Lucenti (born 23 November 1984) is a judoka from Argentina. He competed at the 2008, 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics in the men's half-middleweight (-81 kg). Travis Stevens (born February 28, 1986) is an American judoka and Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioner who competed in the 2008, 2012, and 2016 Summer Olympics. He competes in the men's half-middleweight (−81 kg) division. On August 9, 2016, Stevens became the third American male judoka to win a silver medal in the Olympics.
