2011 Omaha Nighthawks Season
The Omaha Nighthawks season was the second season for the United Football League franchise. Offseason The team fired previous head coach Jeff Jagodzinski following the 2010 season after losing the last four games and slipping out of the playoffs. Joe Moglia, an Omaha native who had originally been assigned as head coach of the expansion Virginia Destroyers, was reassigned to Omaha to replace Jagodzinski. The Nighthawks have also changed stadiums, moving from Johnny Rosenblatt Stadium, where they spent their inaugural season, to TD Ameritrade Park in the downtown area of Omaha. Joe Moglia
Joseph Hugh Moglia (born April 1, 1949) is an American businessman and former football coach. He served as head football coach at Coastal Carolina University from 2012 to 2016 and again in 2018 after spending the 2017 season on medical leave. During his tenure, the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers transitioned from the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) to the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS). In six seasons, Coastal Carolina compiled a record of 56–22. Moglia is also the former chairman of the board and former CEO of TD Ameritrade. Moglia is the author of two books: ''The Perimeter Attack Offense'' and ''Coach Yourself to Success: Winning the Investment Game''. Boston College Eagles Football
The Boston College Eagles football team represents Boston College in the sport of American football. The Eagles compete in the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) as a member of the Atlantic Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). The Eagles home games are played at Alumni Stadium on the university's campus in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. Mark Herzlich Jr. (born September 1, 1987) is a former American football linebacker and current sports commentator. He was signed by the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent in 2011 and played all seven seasons of his professional career with the Giants. He played college football at Boston College. Akiem Jamar Hicks (born November 16, 1989) is an American football defensive end for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League (NFL). The Gardner–Webb Runnin' Bulldogs are the athletic teams that represent Gardner–Webb University, located in Boiling Springs, North Carolina. Gardner–Webb participates in 21 varsity sports at the NCAA Division I level. The school's programs are a part of the Big South Conference. Known as the Bulldogs going back to 1922, costumed mascots, registered athletic marks and Gardner-Webb University live mascots have all been featured.
