2011 Norwegian First Division
The 2011 1. divisjon (referred to as Adeccoligaen for sponsorship reasons) was a Norwegian second-tier football season. The season began play on 3 April 2011 and ended on 30 October 2011. The clubs relegated from the 2010 Tippeligaen were Hønefoss (after relegation play-offs), Kongsvinger and Sandefjord. Asker, HamKam, Hødd, and Randaberg were promoted from the 2010 2. divisjon. Following an extended period of financial distress, Lyn withdrew from the league in 2010. Follo did not finish their licensing application for the 2011 season before the time limit of 15 September 2010, and were thus relegated at the end of the 2010 season even though they finished 12th, outside of the relegation zone. As a result of this the 13th placed team, Sandnes Ulf, avoided relegation. Tromsdalen and Moss were the remaining two teams relegated to the 2011 2. divisjon. The 2011 season was the 106th season of competitive football in Norway. The season began on 18 March 2011 for Tippeligaen, 3 April 2011 for Adeccoligaen, with 2. divisjon and 3. divisjon both starting six days later on 9 April 2011. 2. divisjon and 3. divisjon ended on 22 October 2011 while Adeccoligaen ended eight days later on 30 October 2011 and Tippeligaen finished on 27 November 2011. Mjøndalen IF
Mjøndalen IF is a Norwegian sports club located in Mjøndalen, Viken, Norway. Of the different athletic endeavours that the club supports, it may be best known in Norway for its bandy national championship teams and internationally for its association football national championship teams that have competed in UEFA championships. Founded in 1910, it has sections for association football, bandy, baseball, cycling, gymnastics, handball, judo and skiing. The club formerly had a section for athletics. History Mjøndalen was founded on 22 August 1910. Tromsdalen UIL
Tromsdalen UIL is a Norwegian sports club founded in 1938, from Tromsdalen in the municipality of Tromsø. It has sections for football, athletics, skiing and gymnastics. The men's football team plays in 2. divisjon, the third level in Norwegian football. Their home games are played at Tromsdalen Stadion, which seats 3,000 spectators. Their colors are red and blue. Football The team was promoted to the 1. divisjon in 2003, but was relegated after one season. The club was reintroduced to the second highest flight of Norwegian football, which in the meantime had changed its name to Adeccoligaen, in 2005. TV 2 (''TV to'') is a Norwegian terrestrial television channel. Its headquarters are located in Bergen. TV 2 began test broadcasting on 13 November 1991, and a year later, it was officially launched on 5 September 1992, becoming Norway's first commercial free-to-air television channel. Follo FK
Follo Fotballklubb is a football club from Ski, Viken, Norway. Follo play in light blue, and their home ground is Ski stadion. It was founded in September 2000 and their biggest achievement was playing in the 2010 Norwegian Football Cup Final. History It was founded in September 2000 as an umbrella team for the football departments of five local teams; Ås IL, Oppegård IL, Langhus IL, Ski IL and Nordby IL. Follo's had a good Norwegian Cup run in 2006, when they made it all the way to the quarter finals, eventually losing at home 0-1 to the cup finalists Sandefjord. But on the way to the quarters they beat defending holders Molde. Four years later, in 2010, they made it to the Norwegian Cup final, beating Tippeligaen club Lillestrøm 4-2 in the third round, and then later Rosenborg 3-2 in the semi finals. FK Lyn
Lyn 1896 Fotballklubb () is a Norwegian football club and a department of the sports club Ski- og Fotballklubben Lyn based in Oslo, whose members also participate in Nordic skiing and orienteering. Until 2010, SFK Lyn had two football departments, one professional section and one amateur section. After the professional football department, FK Lyn, was bankrupted in 2010, the fans decided to support the amateur department, Lyn Fotball, instead. With the help of some of the old FK Lyn players, Lyn Fotball has won three consecutive promotions, and are playing in the 3. divisjon. 2010 Tippeligaen
The 2010 Tippeligaen was the 66th completed season of top division football in Norway. The competition began on 14 March and ended on 7 November. Rosenborg was the defending champions, having secured their twenty-first league championship in 2009. Haugesund, Hønefoss and Kongsvinger entered as the three promoted teams from the 2009 1. divisjon. They replaced Fredrikstad, Bodø/Glimt and Lyn who were relegated to the 2010 1. divisjon. Season summary On 6 June, Lillestrøm scored three goals in four minutes and 24 seconds, two of them in injury time, to go from 3–0 down to 3–3 away at Molde. The Norwegian Football Federation ( nb, Norges Fotballforbund, nn, Noregs Fotballforbund; NFF) is the governing body of football in Norway. It was formed in 1902 and organises the men's and women's national teams, as well as the league systems for men and women (whose top levels are respectively the Eliteserien and Toppserien). The current president of NFF is Lise Klaveness. By 1 January 2004, there were 1,814 clubs organized in Norway and 373,532 registered players. It is the largest sports federation in Norway.
