2011 Nordic Figure Skating Championships
The 2011 Nordic Figure Skating Championships were held from February 10 to 13, 2011 at the Rødovre Skøjte Arena in Rødovre, Denmark. Skaters competed in the disciplines of men's singles and ladies' singles on the senior, junior, and novice levels. Eligibility The senior-level competition was open to all ISU member nations. 2010–11 Figure Skating Season
The 2010–11 figure skating season began on July 1, 2010, and ended on June 30, 2011. During this season, elite skaters competed on the ISU Championship level at the 2011 European, Four Continents, World Junior, and World Championships. They also competed in elite competitions such as the Grand Prix series and Junior Grand Prix series, culminating in the Grand Prix Final. Season notes This was the first season in which the short dance was contested in ice dance, having replaced the compulsory dance and original dance. The season's required pattern dance was the Golden Waltz (senior) or Viennese Waltz (junior), and the other portion of the dance could be a waltz, foxtrot, quickstep, or tango. Beginning in the 2010–11 season, a rule change allowed men to do two quads in the short program, if they were different jumps. Ari-Pekka Nurmenkari
Ari-Pekka Nurmenkari (born 8 July 1983) is a Finnish former competitive figure skater. He is a seven-time (2003–2007, 2009, 2010) Finnish national champion and has represented Finland at the World Figure Skating Championships. He is the 2008 & 2009 Nordic champion. Nurmenkari withdrew from the 2012 European Championships due to an ankle injury. Personal life Nurmenkari married former professional tennis player, Annina Ahti, on 9 August 2008. They have a son, Axel, who was born in August 2009. Viktoria Helgesson
Viktoria Helgesson (born 13 September 1988) is a retired Swedish figure skater. She is the 2011 Skate America bronze medalist, a five-time (2008–11, 2013) Nordic champion, and an eight-time (2007–12, 2014–15) Swedish national champion. She placed fifth at three European Championships. Her bronze medal at 2011 Skate America is the first Grand Prix medal by a Swedish skater. She and her sister Joshi are the only siblings to finish together in the top 5 of a major championship as single skaters, a feat achieved during the 2015 European Championships. Personal life Viktoria Helgesson was born in Tibro, Sweden. Her younger sister, Joshi Helgesson, and their mother, Christina, have also competed in figure skating at the European Championships. Adrian Schultheiss
Adrian Alexander Konstantin Schultheiss (born 11 August 1988) is a Swedish former competitive figure skater. He is the 2006 Swedish national champion, the 2004–2005 Swedish junior national champion, and the 2006 Nordic Champion. He is the first Swedish skater to win a Junior Grand Prix event, which he did in 2005. Career Adrian Schultheiss was born in Kungsbacka, Sweden and began skating at the age of three. He was the Swedish novice champion in 2002 before debuting internationally the next season. Schultheiss skated as a junior through the end of the 2008 season, although by 2005 he had already begun competing as a senior in some international events. In 2006, Schultheiss won the Swedish National championships. In 2007–08, he skated in both senior and junior events and finished a career-best 6th at the 2008 Europeans. He was 13th at 2008 Worlds.
