2011 New South Wales Cup
The 2011 New South Wales Cup was the 104th season of New South Wales's top-level statewide rugby league competition. The competition was contested by eleven teams over a 30-week season (including Finals), which concluded with the 2011 Grand Final at ANZ Stadium in Sydney. Ladder Source: Finals series Grand final A try on the siren by Jonathan Wright secured the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs their third straight NSW Cup title, triumphing 30–28 over the Auckland Vulcans in the Grand Final at ANZ Stadium. The Bulldogs led by 8 points twice in the second half only to surrender both leads, with a Vulcans try in the 75th minute to Ivan Penehe seeing them take the lead 28–26. With their backs to the wall the Bulldogs secured a turnover 25 metres from the Vulcans line with 60 seconds on the clock, and sending the ball from side to side Josh Reynolds passed the ball to Wright, who evaded the defence to score the match winner as the siren sounded. The NSW Cup, currently known as the Knock-On Effect NSW Cup for sponsorship reasons, is a rugby league competition for clubs in New South Wales. The competition has a history dating back to the NSWRFL's origins in 1908, starting off as a reserve grade competition, and is now the premier open age competition in the state. The NSW Cup was the Reserve Grade/Presidents Cup/First Division from 1908 until 2002, and the NSWRL Premier League from 2003 to 2007, the NSW Cup from 2008 to 2015, the Intrust Super Premiership NSW from 2016 to 2018, the Canterbury Cup NSW from 2019 to 2020. Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles
The Manly Warringah Sea Eagles are an Australian professional rugby league club based in Sydney's Northern Beaches. The team colours are maroon and white, while their namesake and logo is the sea eagle. They compete in Australia's premier rugby league competition, the National Rugby League (NRL). The club debuted in the 1947 New South Wales Rugby Football League season and currently host the majority of their home games from Brookvale Oval in Brookvale, while training at the New South Wales Academy of Sport in Narrabeen. Joel Romelo
Joel Romelo (born 3 April 1989) is a former Australian professional rugby league footballer who previously played for the Penrith Panthers, Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs and Melbourne Storm in the NRL. He primarily played at but could fill in at five-eighth and . Romelo is of Indigenous Australian and Italian descent. Trent Cutler
Trent Andrew Cutler is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer. Cutler played for Canterbury-Bankstown in the National Rugby League (NRL) competition on the wing. Michael Lett
Michael Lett (born 11 March 1987) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 2000s and 2010s. He played in the NRL for the Sydney Roosters, St. George Illawarra Dragons and the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs usually in the centres. Early life Lett was born in Penrith, New South Wales, Australia. He attended Sarah Redfern High School and whilst there played for the Australian Schoolboys team in 2004. He played for the Junior Kangaroos on 8 October 2005 against Papua New Guinea in Darwin. Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs
The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are an Australian professional rugby league football club based in Belmore, a suburb in the Canterbury-Bankstown region of Sydney. They compete in the NRL Telstra Premiership, as well as competitions facilitated by the New South Wales Rugby League, including the Canterbury Cup NSW, the Jersey Flegg Cup, Harvey Norman Women's Premiership, Tarsha Gale Cup, S. Leichhardt Oval is a rugby league and soccer stadium in Lilyfield, New South Wales, Australia. It is currently one of three home grounds for the Wests Tigers National Rugby League (NRL) team, along with Campbelltown Stadium and Western Sydney Stadium. Prior to its merger with the Western Suburbs Magpies, it was the longtime home of the Balmain Tigers, who used the ground from 1934–1994 and 1997–1999. It was named after Ludwig Leichhardt.
