2011 New Orleans Saints Season
The 2011 season was the New Orleans Saints' 45th in the National Football League, their 36th playing home games at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome and their sixth under head coach Sean Payton. In Week 16, Drew Brees broke the single-season passing record previously held by Dan Marino; Brees ended the season with 5,476 passing yards, an NFL record. The team also broke the record for offensive yards from scrimmage with 7,474 and Darren Sproles broke the record for all purpose yards, with 2,696. The Saints also finished second in scoring for total points with 547, and finished second for points per game with 34.2 points and sacks with 24. NFC South
The National Football Conference – Southern Division or NFC South is one of the four Division (sport), divisions of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL). It was created prior to the 2002 NFL season, when the league realigned divisions after expanding to 32 teams. The NFC South currently has four member clubs: the Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, New Orleans Saints, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. 2012 NFL Draft
The 2012 NFL draft was the 77th annual meeting of National Football League (NFL) franchises to select newly eligible American football players for their rosters. The draft, which is officially called the "NFL Player Selection Meeting", was held at Radio City Music Hall in New York City from April 26 to April 28, 2012. There were 253 draft selections: 221 regular selections and 32 compensatory selections. The Indianapolis Colts, who compiled the league's worst season in with a 2–14 record, had the right to the first selection. A record 26 prospects attended the draft in person. Nathan Lee "Nate" Bussey (born February 20, 1989) is a former American football linebacker. He was drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the seventh round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He played college football at Illinois. He was also a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Omaha Nighthawks and Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Greg Romeus (born April 29, 1988) is a former American football linebacker. He was drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the seventh round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He played as a defensive end for the Pittsburgh Panthers at the University of Pittsburgh. Romeus played football for just one year before entering college. Johnny Patrick (born August 17, 1988) is a former American football cornerback. He was drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the third round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He played college football at Louisville. Early life Patrick was born in DeLand, Florida and attended DeLand High School. Martez Jerome Wilson (born September 21, 1988) is a former American football linebacker in the National Football League for the New Orleans Saints, Oakland Raiders and Dallas Cowboys. 2011 Green Bay Packers Season
The Green Bay Packers season was the franchise's 93rd season overall and their 91st in the National Football League (NFL), and the sixth under head coach Mike McCarthy. The team not only improved on their 10–6 record from a season earlier, they became just the sixth team in NFL history to win 15 games during the regular season. As of 2022, the 15–1 record stands as the best in team history, as well as the best record for a defending Super Bowl champion.
