2011 Italian Formula Three Championship
The 2011 Italian Formula Three Championship was the 47th Italian Formula Three Championship season. The season began on 15 May on the new for the championship Autodromo di Franciacorta and ended on 16 October at Monza after 16 races held at eight meetings. With victories at Spa, Vallelunga, Sergio Campana of BVM – Target Racing finished the season as champion, becoming third driver in row to win championship for this team. He finished seventeen points clear of Prema Powerteam driver Michael Lewis, who won rookie championship and three races during the season. Third place went to his teammate and Ferrari Driver Academy driver Raffaele Marciello, who took two victories at Misano and Adria International Raceway. Fourth place in the championship was claimed by another Ferrari Driver Academy driver. The Italian Formula Three Championship was the Formula Three racing competition in Italy. History Formula Three has traditionally been regarded as the first major stepping stone for F1 hopefuls - it is typically the first point in a driver's career at which most drivers in the series are aiming at professional careers in racing rather than being amateurs and enthusiasts. JD Motorsport is an auto racing team based in Vespolate, Italy that competes in formula single-seaters in Europe. History The team was formed in the 1995 by Roberto Cavallari and Alfredo Cappelletti. In 1996 the team started to participate in Formula Renault 2000 Eurocup and had four consecutive titles with Enrique Bernoldi, Jeffrey van Hooydonk, Bruno Besson and Gianmaria Bruni. Edward Mackay "Eddie" Cheever III (born 5 June 1993) is an Italian-American racing driver who competes in the FIA World Endurance Championship for MR Racing in the LMGTE Am class.
