2011 I-League 2nd Division
The 2011 I-League 2nd Division is the fourth season of the second division of the I-League, the Indian professional football league. A total of 21 teams were divided into three groups and top two teams from each group played in final round, they will be joined by Shillong Lajong FC and Sporting Clube de Goa. Schedules and Groups The Second Division League fixtures for the preliminary round were as follows. Group A matches were scheduled to be played from 27 March to 9 April, while Group B Matches would be held from 2 April to 18 April and Group C matches would be played from 31 March to 17 April. I-League 2nd Division
I-League 2, previously known as I-League 2nd Division and officially known as or Hero I-League 2 (for sponsorship ties with Hero MotoCorp), is an Indian men's professional football league. It is the 3rd tier of Indian football, behind Indian Super League and I-League. It operates as a system of promotion with I-League (final qualifying phase of state leagues teams). In 2020, due to COVID-19 pandemic in India, the league format was changed into I-League Qualifiers. To avoid confusion with I-League being the second tier, the league was renamed to I-League 2 by AIFF in 2022. The 2nd Division league was introduced from the 2008 season, having been previously known as the National Football League 2nd Division. State FA's nominate teams who have finished at the top of their respective state leagues (or passing the required criteria). Mohammedan Sporting Club (Kolkata)
Mohammedan Sporting Club is an Indian multi-sports club based in Kolkata, West Bengal. Its football team competes in I-League, the second-tier of Indian football, as well as in Calcutta Football League (CFL), the oldest football league in Asia. Formed in February 1891, it is one of the oldest active football clubs in the country. Rangdajied United FC (formerly known as Ar-Hima) is an Indian professional association football club based in Mawngap-Mawphlang, approximately 20 km south-west of Shillong, East Khasi hills, Meghalaya. Founded in 1987, the club participated in I-League 2nd Division and won the 2012–13 season. Rangdajied was later featured in the then top tier league in the country, I-league, during 2013–14 season. Josco Football Club was an Indian professional football club based in Ernakulam, Kerala. The club was founded in 2007 and previously they have completed in the I-League 2nd Division, then second tier of Indian football, alongside the Kerala Premier League. Paljor Stadium (also spelled Palzor Stadium) is a football stadium located in Gangtok, Sikkim, India. The stadium is currently home to Sikkim Premier Division League clubs. It holds 30,000 people.
