The 2011 Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips at The Glen is a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series stock car race held on August 15, 2011 at Watkins Glen International in Watkins Glen, New York. Contested over 90 laps, it was the 22nd race of the 2011 season. It was scheduled to be run on August 14, 2011 but was postponed to Monday because of rain. The race was won by Marcos Ambrose of Richard Petty Motorsports, his first career victory in the Cup series and also the first-ever Cup win by an Australian driver. Watkins Glen International, nicknamed "The Glen", is an automobile race track located in the town of Dix just southwest of the village of Watkins Glen, New York, at the southern tip of Seneca Lake. It was long known around the world as the home of the Formula One United States Grand Prix, which it hosted for twenty consecutive years (1961–1980). In addition, the site has also been home to road racing of nearly every class, including the World Sportscar Championship, Trans-Am, Can-Am, NASCAR Cup Series, the International Motor Sports Association and the IndyCar Series. NASCAR Manufacturers' Championship
The NASCAR Manufacturers' Championship is awarded by NASCAR to the most successful manufacturer over a season, as determined by a points system based on race results. The Manufacturers' Championship was first awarded in 1952, to Hudson. Different car make/engine combinations are considered to be different manufacturers for the purposes of the Championship. Up to the 2013 season, the Manufacturer's Championship points were calculated by adding points scored in each race by the highest finishing driver for that manufacturer.
