2011 Guangzhou International Women's Open
The 2011 Guangzhou International Women's Open (also known as the ''WANLIMA Guangzhou International Women's Open'' for sponsorship reasons) was a women's tennis tournament on outdoor hard courts. It was the 8th edition of the Guangzhou International Women's Open, and part of the WTA International tournaments of the 2011 WTA Tour. It took place in Guangzhou, People's Republic of China, from September 19 through September 24, 2011. WTA International Tournaments
The WTA International Tournaments was a category for professional tennis tournaments of the Women's Tennis Association from the 2009 WTA Tour until 2020, which replaced the previous Tier III and Tier IV categories. The winner of a WTA International adds 280 points to her WTA ranking. For the 2020 season, there were 32 tournaments, all knock-out tournaments with a prize money for every event at $275,000 ($775,000 for Shenzhen, and $525,000 for Guangzhou and Hong Kong). Maria Yuryevna Kirilenko ( rus, Мари́я Ю́рьевна Кириле́нко, p=mɐˈrʲijə kʲɪrʲɪˈlʲɛnkə ; born 25 January 1987) is a Russian former professional tennis player. Xu Yifan (; ; born 8 August 1988) is a professional tennis player from China. She reached a career-high ranking of No. 148 in singles, on 13 July 2015. Zarina Diyas
Zarina Diyas ( kk, Зари́на Ди́ас; born 18 October 1993) is a Kazakh professional tennis player. She has been ranked as high as No. 31 in the world by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA). Diyas has won one WTA singles title, at the 2017 Japan Women's Open, as well as nine singles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit. Diyas mostly played on the ITF Circuit until 2014, her breakthrough season. During that year, she started outside the top 150, before progressing into the top 40 by September. Sun Shengnan (; ; born 21 January 1987) is a Chinese former tennis player. Her highest WTA singles ranking is 216th, which she reached on 4 April 2011. Her career high in doubles is 50th, which she reached on 17 September 2007. A wild card (also wildcard or wild-card and also known as an at-large berth or at-large bid) is a tournament or playoff berth awarded to an individual or team that fails to qualify in the normal way; for example, by having a high ranking or winning a qualifying stage.
