FINA World Junior Swimming Championships
The FINA World Junior Swimming Championships (or "Junior Worlds") is a swimming championship event organized by FINA for girls aged 14–17 and boys aged 15–18 on 31 December of the year of the competition. Andreas Vazaios ( el, Ανδρέας Βαζαίος; born 9 May 1994 in Athens) is a Greek swimmer. He competed in the 200 m individual medley event at the 2012 Summer Olympics and was eliminated after the qualifying heats. At the 2016 Summer Olympics, he competed in the men's 200 m individual medley event. He finished 9th in the heats with a time of 1:59.33. He qualified for the semifinals where he placed 11th with a time of 1:59.54 and did not qualify for the final. Arthur Franklin Mendes Filho (born August 7, 1993 in Cáceres) is a Brazilian swimmer. He was at the 2011 FINA World Junior Swimming Championships, in Lima, Peru, where he won a bronze medal in the 100-metre butterfly. At the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Mendes won the gold medal in the 4×100-metre medley relay, where he broke the Pan American Games record with a time of 3:32.68, along with Marcelo Chierighini, Felipe França Silva and Guilherme Guido. Kenta Hirai (born May 7, 1994) is a Japanese competitive swimmer who won the silver medal in the 200 meter butterfly at the 2014 Asian Games.
