2011 F.C. New York Season
The 2011 F.C. New York season was the club's third year of existence, as well as their inaugural season of playing professional soccer. New York will be playing in the USL Pro, USL Professional Division, the third-tier of American Soccer Pyramid, American soccer. The club also participated in the 2011 U.S. Open Cup for the first time and made it to the third round, where they were eliminated by the New York Red Bulls. Review April F.C. New York played their first ever match on the evening of April 9, 2011, against Orlando City SC (2010–2014), Orlando City. FCNY's away match ended in disaster, losing 3–0 to the Lions. 2011 USL Pro Season
The 2011 USL Pro season was the 25th season of third-division soccer in the United States, and was the inaugural season of the United Soccer Leagues' (USL) new professional competition. The league is effectively a combination of the USL's former First and Second Divisions. Following the conclusion of the regular season in August, a postseason tournament, known as the USL Pro Playoffs, took place between the top eight clubs during the season. The quarterfinals was played between August 19–20, the semifinals between August 26–28, and the championship took place on September 3. Teams USL Pro was initially set to feature 15 clubs that would be aligned into three conferences of five clubs: the "American", "National" and "International" conferences. Gary Boughton
Gary Boughton (born November 16, 1988) is an American soccer player played in the USL Premier Development League, USL Professional League, Major Indoor Soccer League, National Premier Soccer League, and the Canadian Soccer League. Career College and amateur Boughton played college soccer at Medaille College. He led his Medaille team to four straight undefeated conference championships, three trips to the NCAA tournament, and in his senior year smashed the NCAA career assists record, registering 82 career assists in his four years. He also tallied 35 goals in 86 career collegiate games. Erik Rengifo
Erik Rengifo (born November 8, 1989, in Woodhaven, New York) is an American soccer player who is currently without a club. Career College and amateur Rengifo attended Beach Channel High School, leading his team to the PSAL quarterfinals in back-to-back seasons in 2005 and 2006, and played club soccer for Blau-Weiss Gottschee, before beginning his college soccer career at Molloy College in 2007. He transferred to Hofstra University prior to his junior season in 2008, and spent three years with the Pride. During his college years he also had two stints with Brooklyn Knights in the USL Premier Development League, in 2008 and 2010, as well as a season playing for the Long Island Academy team in the National Premier Soccer League. Sam Craven
Sam Craven (born 27 September 1988) is an English former footballer who played as a defender. He played professionally for FC New York of the USL Professional Division. Career College and amateur Craven attended The Becket School in his native Nottingham, and was part of the youth setup at storied English football league club Notts County where he made several first team appearances as a 17-year-old, before moving to the United States in 2007 after being offered a college soccer scholarship at Lynn University. He played three seasons at Lynn, scoring three goals with seven assists in 47 games, was a two-time all-conference selection, and helped the Fighting Knights to two conference titles. Joey Tavernese
Joey Tavernese (born July 17, 1989) is an American soccer, indoor, and futsal player who is currently playing for Utica City FC in the Major Arena Soccer League and for Rochester Lancers 2 in Major Arena Soccer League 2, where his also serves as an assistant coach. Jhonny Arteaga
Jhonny Alexandre Arteaga (born 24 November 1986) is a Colombian former footballer and current football coach. Career Youth and College Arteaga grew up in Stamford, Connecticut, where he attended Westhill High School before playing college soccer at Dominican College (New York). In 2005, 2006 and 2007, Arteaga received All CACC Honors, and NSCAA All Region Honors in 2006 and 2007. During his Senior Year, Arteaga Led the CACC in Points (38) & in Goals (16). Quame Holder (born April 14, 1988, in Port of Spain) is a Trinidadian footballer who is currently without a club. Career Amateur Holder moved from his native Trinidad to the United States aged 13, settling in New York.
