2011 Campeonato Brasileiro Série C
In 2011, the Campeonato Brasileiro Série C, the third level of the Brazilian League, will be contested by 20 clubs divided in four groups, followed by a playoff round, during 16 July and 13 November. Campeonato Brasileiro Série C
The Campeonato Brasileiro Série C is the third tier of the Brazilian football league system. Unlike the first and second divisions, the Série C is not played in a double round robin system, arguably because many participating teams lack the financial conditions to travel long distances. Thus, the tournament is organized in regional groups and the table prevents teams from distant states from playing each other in the initial rounds. Until 2008, any professional team could apply, but only 64 teams would take part in the tournament. The teams that had been relegated from the Série B in the previous year were joined by teams qualified for each federation state. Qualification rules varied, some federations used the state tournaments as qualification tournaments, others organized exclusive qualification tournaments to the Série C. Guarany Sporting Club
Guarany Sporting Club, commonly known as Guarany de Sobral or just as Guarany, is a Brazilian football club from Sobral, Ceará state. They competed once in the Série B and in the Série C, and won the Série D once. History Guarany Sporting Club was founded on July 2, 1938, at Luiz Nogueira Adeodato's home, located in Sobral, Ceará state. The first members of the club's board of directors were Father José Aloísio Pinto and Luiz Nogueira Adeodato. Guarany won their first title, which was the Campeonato Cearense Second Level, in 1966, winning the competition again in the following year and in 1999. They competed in the Série C in 2001, finishing in the third place, and then being promoted to the Série B in 2002, replacing Malutrom in the competition. The Estádio Municipal Zinho de Oliveira, known as Zinho Oliveira, is a Brazilian football stadium located in the city of Marabá, in the state of Pará. The stadium is nicknamed "Ninho das Aves" (Birds’ Nest) and "Velho Zinho" (Old Zinho) by fans, the latter because it was built in the 1970s and is located in the Antônio Maia avenue, in the Francisco Coelho neighbourhood, the urban core of Velha Marabá. Rio Branco Football Club, commonly referred to as Rio Branco, is a Brazilian professional club based in Rio Branco, Acre founded on 8 June 1919.
