2011 Baltic Chain Tour
The 2011 Baltic Chain Tour was the inaugural modern era edition of the Baltic Chain Tour road cycling race. It was held over a period of four days between 17 and 20 May 2013. The race was a part of the 2012 UCI Europe Tour with a race classification of 2.2. General classification was won by Estonian cyclist Erki Pütsep Erki Pütsep (born 25 May 1976 in Jõgeva) is an Estonian professional road bicycle racer who last rode for the team. Ramūnas Navardauskas (born 30 January 1988) is a Lithuanian professional road racing cyclist, who rides for UCI Continental team . He has also competed professionally for the , and teams. Career After four years in the amateur ranks, Navardauskas turned professional with in 2011. During the 2012 Giro d'Italia, Navardauskas finished sixth in the opening individual time trial; twenty-two seconds shy of American Taylor Phinney (). In stage four's team time trial, were victorious, and Navardauskas took the race lead. He became the first Lithuanian to wear the pink jersey. However, Navardauskas lost the jersey to Italian Adriano Malori () on stage six. Young rider classification (french: classement général des jeunes) is a cycling jersey competition in multi-day stage race events, such as the Tour de France, Giro d'Italia and many others, which awards the current leader by overall time for riders below the age of twenty-six years (or twenty-three years) depending on the race rules. At the Tour Down Under recipients are aged under twenty-six. Recipients are commonly known as the Best young rider. In stage racing, the fastest overall time of all riders below the age limit is awarded the cycling jersey, often the jersey color is white, in the same fashion the fastest time of all riders (regardless of age) is awarded in the general classification. King Of The Mountains
The King of the Mountains (KoM) is an award given to the best climbing specialist in a men's cycling road race; in women's cycle racing, Queen of the Mountains (QoM) is used. While the title may be given to the rider who achieves the highest position over several designated climbs in a single-day road race, it is more usually applied to stage races (for example, the Grand Tours, Tour de France, Giro d'Italia, Vuelta a España, and smaller races like the Tour of California) where points are accumulated over the duration of the whole race. In the Tour de France, where it is officially known as the Mountains classification, at the top of each significant climb, points are awarded to the riders who are first over the top. The points classification is a secondary award category in road bicycle racing. Points are given for high finishes and, in some cases, for winning sprints at certain places along the route, most often called ''intermediate sprints''. The points classification is the top prize for many cycling sprinters and is often known as the sprint classification; however, in some stage races these classifications are based on different criteria. General Classification
The general classification (or the GC) in road bicycle racing is the category that tracks overall times for riders in multi-stage races. Each stage will have a stage winner, but the overall winner in the GC is the rider who has the fastest cumulative time across all stages.BBC Sport http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sport/tour_de_france/378101.stm Hence, whoever wins the GC is generally regarded as the winner of the race. Riders who finish in the same group are awarded the same time, with possible subtractions due to time bonuses. A race stage, leg, or heat is a unit of a race that has been divided in several parts for the reason such as length of the distance to be covered, as in a multi-day event.
