2011 BWF Super Series Masters Finals
The 2011 BWF Super Series Finals was a top level badminton competition which was held from December 14 to December 18, 2011 in Liuzhou, China. The final was held by Chinese Badminton Association and sponsored by Li-Ning. It was the final event of the BWF Super Series competition on the 2011 BWF Super Series schedule. The total purse for the event was $500,000. BWF Super Series
The BWF Super Series was a series of Grade 2 badminton tournaments, sanctioned by Badminton World Federation (BWF). It was launched on December 14, 2006 and implemented in 2007. Since 2011, the Super Series includes two levels of tournament, Super Series Premier and Super Series. A season of Super Series featured twelve tournaments around the world, including five of them classified as Super Series Premier. Super Series Premier tournament offers higher ranking point and higher minimum total prize money. Top eight players/pairs in each discipline in Super Series standings are invited to the Super Series Finals held at the year end. BWF announced a new tournament structure in March 2017, BWF World Tour together with the new hosts for 2018–2021 cycle to replace this Super Series tournaments. 2011 BWF Super Series
The 2011 BWF Super Series was the fifth season of the BWF Super Series. This season marked the beginning of a three-year cycle of the event, the second after the first four-year one from 2007 to 2010. A few changes were announced by the Badminton World Federation (BWF), as the India Open was promoted up one stage from the Grand Prix Gold level, while the Swiss Open was dropped from the Super Series. Five tournaments were promoted to become slightly higher-level Super Series Premier events with more prize money awarded than in the Super Series tournaments. Saina Nehwal
Saina Nehwal (; born 17 March 1990) is an Indian professional badminton player. A former world no. 1, she has won 24 international titles, which includes ten Superseries titles. Although she reached the world's 2nd in 2009, it was only in 2015 that she was able to attain the world no. 1 ranking, thereby becoming the only female player from India and overall the second Indian player – after Prakash Padukone – to achieve this feat. Juliane Schenk
Juliane Schenk (born 26 November 1982) is a German badminton player. In March 2014 she retired from international play. Career In 2001, she won the European Junior Championships in women's singles. 2003 saw her win the women's doubles with Nicole Grether in two tournaments, the Irish International and the Bitburger Open. Schenk played badminton at the 2004 Summer Olympics, losing in women's singles to Tracey Hallam of Great Britain in the round of 32. Sung Ji-hyun
Sung Ji-hyun (; born 29 July 1991) is a South Korean badminton player from Seoul. She is an Asian Championship gold medalist, a two-time Summer Universiade gold medalist, and a World Championship bronze medalist. Tine Baun (née Rasmussen; born 21 July 1979) is a Danish former badminton player. Most notably, she won the All England Open Badminton Championships women's singles title three times in 2008, 2010, and 2013 – the last of these being her final tournament before retirement. Taufik Hidayat (born 10 August 1981) is an Indonesian retired badminton player. He is a former World, Olympic, Asian Games, and Asian champion, and the youngest world number one in the men's singles. Kenichi Tago
is a former badminton player from Japan. He is the son of former badminton player Yoshiko Yonekura. In 2010, he reached the final of the All England Open Badminton Championships. En route to the final he beat three seeded players including Nguyen Tien Minh, Chen Jin and Bao Chunlai. Simon Santoso (born 29 July 1985) is an Indonesian former badminton player.
