2011 Australian Open Grand Prix Gold
The 2011 Australian Open Grand Prix Gold was a badminton tournament which took place at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre in Melbourne, Australia on 5–10 April 2011 and had a total purse of $120,000. This is for the first time Australian Open was rated as a Grand Prix Gold event, where before in 2009–2010 were a Grand Prix events. Melbourne Sports And Aquatic Centre
Melbourne Sports Centres - MSAC is an international sporting venue located in Albert Park, Victoria, Australia. The centre was opened on 24 July 1997 at a construction cost of A$65 million. The cost was funded by the State Government of Victoria and the City of Port Phillip. The centre has hosted international events including the 2006 Commonwealth Games and the 2007 World Aquatics Championships. The centre has several swimming pools and international standard diving facilities. There is a large multi-purpose sports hall used for sports such as badminton, basketball, table tennis and volleyball, and also squash courts and a gym. Hu Yun
Hu Yun (; born 31 August 1981) is a retired badminton player representing Hong Kong since 2006. He competed at the 2010 and 2014 Asian Games, and also 2016 Rio Olympics. Born in Wuhan, Hubei, China, Hu started playing badminton in 1988, and participated in local province badminton teams at an early age. In 2006, he started to represent Hong Kong at international tournaments. He won the Hong Kong National Badminton Championships four times, in 2007, 2009, 2010, and 2012. Chan Yan Kit (, born 10 December 1985) is a badminton player from Hong Kong. He competed at the Asian Games from 2006 to 2014. Career He competed at the 2006 IBF World Championships in men's singles and was defeated in first round by Eric Pang. Arvind Bhat (born 7 June 1979) is a male badminton player from Bangalore, India. Career Arvind started his career in Youth centre at the age of 11 in 1991. He proved his mettle at a young age by winning many age group level events at the state. Trained at Sadashivanagar club from 1994 to 1997. He trained at Karnataka Badminton association from 1997 to 2015. He went on to win Sr. State Championships in 2001. Muhammad Hafiz bin Hashim (born 13 September 1982) is a former Malaysian badminton player whose biggest success is having won the 2003 All England Open Badminton Championships. Wong Choong Hann
Wong Choong Hann (; born 17 February 1977) is a former badminton player from Malaysia. He is the first Malaysian to win a medal in the men's singles event at the BWF World Championships. Currently he is the coaching director for the Malaysia national badminton team. Career Wong Choong Hann's career began with the 1996 Malaysia Open. The first tournament he won was the 1997 Dutch Open. He represented Malaysia in 2002, where Malaysia emerged runners-up to Indonesia in the Thomas Cup championships.
