2011 Arizona State Sun Devils Football Team
The 2011 Sun Devils football team represented Arizona State University in the 2011 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The team was coached by fifth year head coach Dennis Erickson and played their home games in Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Arizona. They are a member of the South Division of the Pac-12 Conference. They finished the season 6–7, 4–5 in Pac-12 play to finish in a tie for third place in the South Division. They were invited to the Maaco Bowl Las Vegas where they were defeated by Boise State. Dennis Erickson
Dennis Brian Erickson (born March 24, 1947) is an American football coach who most recently served as the head coach for the Salt Lake Stallions of the Alliance of American Football league. He was also the head coach at the University of Idaho (1982–1985, 2006), the University of Wyoming (1986), Washington State University (1987–1988), the University of Miami (1989–1994), Oregon State University (1999–2002), and Arizona State University (2007–2011). During his tenure at Miami, Erickson's teams won two College football national championships in NCAA Division I FBS, national championships, in 1989 Miami Hurricanes football team, 1989 and 1991 Miami Hurricanes football team, 1991. 2011 UCLA Bruins Football Team
The 2011 UCLA Bruins football team represented the University of California, Los Angeles in the 2011 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The team was coached during the regular season by fourth year head coach Rick Neuheisel and played their home games at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. Mike Johnson was named the interim head coach for the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl after Neuheisel was fired. On November 25, 2011, with Colorado's defeat of Utah, the Bruins were declared the South Division champions. Autzen Stadium is an outdoor American football, football stadium in the Pacific Northwest, northwest United States, in Eugene, Oregon. ''College GameDay'' (branded as ''ESPN College GameDay built by Home Depot, The Home Depot'' for sponsorship reasons) is a pre-game show broadcast by ESPN as part of the network's ESPN College Football, coverage of college football, broadcast on Saturday mornings during the college football season, prior to the start of games with a 12:00 pm ET kickoff. The 2011 Oregon Ducks football team represented the University of Oregon in the 2011 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The team was led by third year head coach Chip Kelly and played their home games at Autzen Stadium for the 45th straight year. They are a member of the Pac-12 Conference in the North Division. Fox Sports Networks (FSN), formerly known as Fox Sports Net, was the collective name for a group of regional sports channels in the United States. The 2011 Utah Utes football team represented the University of Utah in the 2011 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The team was coached by seventh year head coach Kyle Whittingham and played their home games in Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, Utah. After playing the previous 12 seasons in the Mountain West Conference, this was Utah's first season in the new Pac-12 Conference in the South Division.
