2010–11 Major Indoor Soccer League Season
The 2010–11 Major Indoor Soccer League season was the third season for the league, and second under the MISL banner. It was the 33rd season of professional Division 1 indoor soccer. Three new teams, the Omaha Vipers, the Missouri Comets, and the Chicago Riot joined the league prior to the season's beginning. Omaha Civic Auditorium
Omaha Civic Auditorium was a multi-purpose convention center located in Omaha, Nebraska. Opened in 1954, it surpassed the Ak-Sar-Ben Coliseum as the largest convention/entertainment complex in the city, until the completion of CHI Health Center Omaha in 2003. With the opening of the Ralston Arena in 2012, all teams that played at the Civic Auditorium moved, which reduced the venue's viability. The auditorium closed its doors in June 2014 and was demolished two years later. Facilities Arena The Civic Auditorium arena seated up to 9,300 for sporting events and up to 10,960 for concerts. In the past, the arena was home to the Creighton Bluejays men's basketball team, the Creighton women's basketball and volleyball teams, and the University of Nebraska Omaha hockey team, and the Kansas City-Omaha Kings NBA basketball team. Machel Millwood
Machel Millwood (born 28 June 1979 in Trelawny Parish) is a Jamaican soccer player who most recently played for Crystal Palace Baltimore in the USSF Second Division and the Syracuse Silver Knights of the Major Indoor Soccer League. Millwood is best known for his career in the MISL, playing for championship teams with the Baltimore Blast and helping the 2013–2014 Syracuse Silver Knights make the MISL playoffs. Career College Born in Jamaica, Millwood's family moved to Maryland when he was still a child. Max Ferdinand (born November 4, 1986) is a Haitian footballer currently playing for the Baltimore Blast in the Major Arena Soccer League. Career Youth and amateur Ferdinand grew up in Reading, Pennsylvania and attended Reading High School, but did not play college soccer. In 2009 Ferdinand played with FC Reading Revolution in the National Premier Soccer League. Professional In 2010, Ferdinand, then with the MASL's Baltimore Blast, was named the league's Rookie of the Year. After trialing with Chicago Fire of Major League Soccer, Ferdinand signed with the Rochester Rhinos in 2010. Leo Gibson
Leo Gibson (born August 9, 1983) is a Liberian footballer who currently plays for and is the former head coach for the Kansas City Comets in the MASL. Career College Gibson was born in Monrovia, Liberia, but came to the United States in 2002, having previously played for the Monrovia Black Star youth team in the Liberian Premier League. He played college soccer at King College in Tennessee in 2002 and 2003. Professional Gibson had a trial with the Dallas Burn of Major League Soccer in 2004., before eventually signing with the Minnesota Thunder of the USL First Division in 2005. However, a hand injury kept him from playing any games that season. He remained with the Minnesota through the end of 2008, becoming an integral part of the team in the 2006 and 2007 seasons especially. Giuliano Oliviero (born February 26, 1974) is a Canadian former soccer midfielder and currently the head coach of the Milwaukee Wave in the Major Arena Soccer League. Pat Healey (born December 20, 1985) is an American soccer coach and former soccer player who is currently the head coach and general manager of the Harrisburg Heat in the Major Arena Soccer League. College Healey, who was born in Baltimore, Maryland and is the son of Kevin Healey (the President and General Manager of the Baltimore Blast), grew up in Bel Air, Maryland, attended Calvert Hall College High School, and played college soccer at Towson University. Carlos "Chile" Farias (born May 15, 1976 in Santiago, Chile) is a Chilean soccer forward who has spent his entire professional career in the United States. Jamar Beasley (born October 11, 1979, in Fort Wayne, Indiana) is an American soccer player. Career Beasley began his professional career in 1998, as a member Major League Soccer's Project-40, directly out of High School (South Side High School).
