2010–11 Luxembourg Cup
The 2010–11 Luxembourg Cup was the 86th season of Luxembourg's annual cup competition. It began on 29 August 2010 with Round 1 and ended on 29 May 2011 with the Final held at a neutral venue. The winners of the competition will qualify for the second qualifying round of the 2011–12 UEFA Europa League. FC Differdange 03 are the defending champions, having won their first ever cup title last season. Calendar Round 1 Fifty teams from Division 2 (IV) and Division 3 (V) entered in this round. Thirty-six of them competed in matches, with the other fourteen teams were awarded a bye. The games were played on August 29. 2010. FC Differdange 03
Foussballclub Differdange 03 is a football club based in Differdange, Luxembourg. History Differdange 03 was formed in 2003 as an amalgam of two clubs from the city of Differdange: FA Red Boys Differdange and AS Differdange. When the clubs merged, in time for the 2003–04 season, Red Boys was languishing in the bottom half of the Division of Honour, while AS was in mid-table position in the third tier of Luxembourgian football. The new club took Red Boys league position, and was promoted back into the National Division in the 2005–06 season, when the top division was expanded from twelve clubs to fourteen. Red Boys Differdange had previously been one of the largest and most successful teams in Luxembourgian football, having won the Luxembourg Cup more times than any other team (15). US Rumelange
Union Sportive Rumelange, usually abbreviated to US Rumelange, is a football club, based in Rumelange, in south-western Luxembourg. History In the 2005–2006 season, Rumelange finished eleventh in the National Division. It was almost impossible for Rumelange to avoid fourth place, and they were pitted against FC Mamer in a relegation play-off. 2010–11 Luxembourg National Division
The 2010–11 Luxembourg National Division (also known as ''BGL Ligue'' due to sponsorship reasons) was the 97th season of top-tier football in Luxembourg. It began on 7 August 2010 and ended on 20 May 2011. Jeunesse Esch went into the season as the defending champions having won their 28th Luxembourgian championship during the 2009–10 season. Team changes from 2009–10 Rumelange and Mondercange were relegated to the Division of Honour after finishing 13th and 14th in the previous season. They were replaced by 2009–10 Division of Honour champions Wiltz 71 and runners-up Jeunesse Canach. Käerjéng 97 as 12th-placed team had to compete in a single play-off match against 3rd-placed Division of Honour side Oberkorn. Football Club Mondercange is a football club, based in Mondercange, in south-western Luxembourg. In the 2005–06 season, Mondercange finished third in the Division of Honour. This qualified Mondercange for a play-off with FC Avenir Beggen, which they won, granting them promotion into the National Division.
