2010–11 Liga Panameña De Fútbol Season
The 2010–11 Liga Panameña de Fútbol season is the 23rd season of top-flight football in Panama. Because of a restructuring of the calendar of the season, this season will contain three tournaments to bring the season to a fall-spring season (similar to the majority of leagues in Europe). The season began on January 15, 2010, and is scheduled to end in May 2011. Ten teams will complete throughout the entire season. Teams Managerial changes 2010 Clausura The 2010 Clausura was the first tournament of the season. It began on January 25, 2010, and ended on May 14, 2010. Club Deportivo Árabe Unido, Árabe Unido were crowned the champion after defeating San Francisco F.C., San Francisco 1–0 in the first professional football (soccer), football match played in the newly remodeled Estadio Rommel Fernández. Liga Panameña De Fútbol
The Liga Panameña de Fútbol (LPF) ( en, Panamanian Football League) is the top division football league in Panama. Until 2009, the league was named ''Asociación Nacional Pro Fútbol (ANAPROF)''. Competition format The league's season is divided into two tournaments called the Apertura and Clausura. Teams are divided into two Conferences (Eastern and Western). The Eastern Conference is composed by: Tauro, Plaza Amador, Alianza, Club Deportivo del Este, Arabe Unido, and Sporting San Miguelito, while the Western Conference is composed by: Herrera FC, Club Atletico Independiente, Veraguas, Club Universitario, Chiriqui, and San Francisco. Both tournaments have an identical format. Each tournament has two stages: the first stage is a one and a half round-robin round where each team plays every other team twice in the same conference, once at home and once away, and one time against each team from the other conference.
