2010–11 Liga Panameña De Fútbol Season
The 2010–11 Liga Panameña de Fútbol season is the 23rd season of top-flight football in Panama. Because of a restructuring of the calendar of the season, this season will contain three tournaments to bring the season to a fall-spring season (similar to the majority of leagues in Europe). The season began on January 15, 2010, and is scheduled to end in May 2011. Ten teams will complete throughout the entire season. Teams Managerial changes 2010 Clausura The 2010 Clausura was the first tournament of the season. It began on January 25, 2010, and ended on May 14, 2010. Liga Panameña De Fútbol
The Liga Panameña de Fútbol (LPF) ( en, Panamanian Football League) is the top division football league in Panama. Until 2009, the league was named ''Asociación Nacional Pro Fútbol (ANAPROF)''. Competition format The league's season is divided into two tournaments called the Apertura and Clausura. Teams are divided into two Conferences (Eastern and Western). The Eastern Conference is composed by: Tauro, Plaza Amador, Alianza, Club Deportivo del Este, Arabe Unido, and Sporting San Miguelito, while the Western Conference is composed by: Herrera FC, Club Atletico Independiente, Veraguas, Club Universitario, Chiriqui, and San Francisco. San Miguelito is a city and district (''distrito'') of Panamá Province in Panama. Estadio Agustín ''Muquita'' Sánchez is a football stadium in Panamá Oeste Province, Panama which hosts Liga Panameña de Fútbol teams San Francisco and Independiente, as well as other teams and local competitions from the La Chorrera district. Formerly the stadium had slightly smaller dimensions and natural turf, but it was still used for ANAPROF games. In 2008, a joint effort from the Panamanian government and the national sport institute (INDE) spent $1,997,192 in installing artificial turf to the field, increase its dimensions to 105×68 m, seating capacity and also adding a better lighting system. Atlético Veragüense is a Panamanian football team playing in the Liga Panameña de Fútbol. It is based in Santiago de Veraguas in Veraguas province. Its home stadium is Estadio Aristocles Castillo.
