2010–11 LEB Oro Season
The 2010–11 LEB Oro season is the 15th season of the Liga Española de Baloncesto. It's named too Adecco Oro by sponsorship reasons. The 306-game regular season (34 games for each of the 18 teams) began on Friday, October 1, 2010, and will end on Friday, April 15, 2011. The champion of the regular season will be promoted to Liga ACB. The teams between 2nd and 9th position will play a best of 5 games play off, where the winner will be promoted too to the higher division. The teams 16th and 17th will play a best of 5 games play-out where the loser will be relegated to LEB Plata, with the 18th team. Competition format Eligibility of players All teams must have in their roster: * A minimum of six eligible players with the Spanish national team. * A maximum of two non-EU players. * A maximum of three EU players, which one can be a player from an ACP country. * If a team has not two non-EU players, it can sign a player of everywhere. Liga Española De Baloncesto
The Liga Española de Baloncesto, also known as LEB Oro, is the second basketball division of the Spanish basketball league system after the Liga ACB. It is run by the FEB. The Liga Española de Baloncesto is divided into two categories (the other one is the LEB Plata). The LEB league was founded in 1996 and is played under FIBA rules. It was renamed LEB Oro in 2007. The league is contested by 18 clubs. Each season, the top-finishing team in the LEB Oro are automatically promoted to the Liga ACB. The teams that finish the season in 2nd to 9th place enter a playoff tournament, with the winner also gaining promotion to the Liga ACB. The three lowest-finishing teams in the LEB Oro are relegated to LEB Plata. A total of 78 teams have competed in LEB Oro since its inception in 1996. 19 teams have been crowned champions and 30 teams have gained promotion to Liga ACB, of which only five teams could not play in Liga ACB. Club Bàsquet Cornellà is a professional basketball team based in Cornellà de Llobregat, Catalonia. The team currently plays inLEB Plata. Since the 1990s until 2010, CB Cornellà worked as farm team of FC Barcelona. Basket Navarra Club
Basket Navarra Club is a professional Basketball team based in Pamplona, Navarra. The team currently plays in league LEB Plata. History Basket Navarra Club was founded in 2007 with the aim of creating a professional basketball team in Navarra. The club played its first year at LEB Bronce, league created in that season as the fourth division in Spanish basketball. After this first year, the club achieved a vacant berth in LEB Plata. In their second season at this league, the club played the semifinals of the promotion playoffs, but were defeated by CB Tíjola. Club Esportiu Ciutat i Provincia de Lleida Basquetbol is a professional basketball team based in Lleida, Catalonia, Spain and plays in the Barris Nord, in LEB Oro league. The club born in the summer of 1997 like a need of unify the basketball in Lleida, with the origin of Maristes team, that played in the Second National Division. The team spend two seasons in the EBA League linked by Bàsquet Manresa and under the name of Baró de Maials. The Spanish Basketball Federation ( es, Federación Española de Baloncesto; FEB) is the governing body of basketball in Spain. It is based in Madrid, Spain. It was founded on 31 July 1923 as ''Federación Española de Basketball'' in Barcelona, Spain. Tenerife Baloncesto
Tenerife Club de Baloncesto was a professional basketball team based in Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain. History Tenerife CB was founded in 1996 after the fusion of some teams of the islands and debuts in LEB Oro in the 1996–97 season, the first of this league. In the 2002–03 season, Tenerife plays the FIBA Champions' Cup and reaches the second stage. In the same year, Tenerife CB becomes champion of the Copa Príncipe and promotes to Liga ACB, where plays two seasons before being relegated to LEB Oro. In summer of 2010, Tenerife CB renounces to its berth in LEB Oro due to financial problems and is relegated to Liga EBA. In the next summer and after reaching the promotion playoffs, Tenerife CB achieved a vacant berth to play in LEB Plata, the Spanish basketball third division. CB Peñas Huesca
Club Baloncesto Peñas Huesca is a Spanish professional Basketball team based in Huesca, Aragón. The team currently plays in league LEB Plata. History The team played in Liga ACB, where they stayed from 1983 to 1996. After winning the relegation play-off, the sold their spot in the league to Baloncesto Fuenlabrada and they joined the new second tier league, Liga LEB.
