Kategoria Superiore Femra, known officially as ''Abissnet Superiore Femra'', is the highest division of women's association football, women's football in Albania. The league is the female equivalent to the men's Kategoria Superiore. The current season is contested by 10 clubs. History Although football is considered the most popular sport in Albania, women's association football, women's football had historically been non-evident in the country until 2007, when the first ever national tournament was held in Sarandë, from 15 to 18 August, as a promotional event for women's football. The teams who participated were amateur sides made up of a selection of players from Tirana, Shkodër, Korçë and Rubik (town), Rubik. Juban Danja
Juban Danja were an Albanian women's professional football club based in Juban, Shkodër. They last competed in Kategoria Superiore Femra during the 2020–21 season, finishing fifth in a twelve-team league. History Juban Danja was founded on September 6, 2005, in Gur i Zi, a municipal unit within Shkodër County. Known as the “Kingdom of Juban", the pioneering club was the brainchild of Ferdinand Jaku, a distinguished medical professional and an ardent football enthusiast. FC Kinostudio
FC Kinostudio is an Albanian women's professional Association football, football club based in Tirana. They last competed in Kategoria Superiore Femra during the 2023–24 Albanian Women's National Championship, 2023–24 season, finishing fifth in a ten-team league. History Kinostudio was established on 8 July 2009 under the leadership of youth coach Gëzim Gjonpalaj. Several players from Tirana AS, previously coached by Skënder Hodja and later Hiqmet Hasko, joined the team. Tirana AS
Tirana AS were an Albanian women's professional football club based in Tirana. They last competed in Kategoria Superiore Femra during the 2021–22 season, finishing tenth in an eleven-team league. History Noticing the absence of a professional women's football team in Tirana, Genc Ymeraj, along with several talented young footballers at the time, led by captain Aurora Seranaj, formed the Tirana Art-Sport club (Tirana AS). 2011–12 UEFA Women's Champions League
The 2011–12 UEFA Women's Champions League was the eleventh edition of the European women's championship for football clubs. The final was held in the Olympiastadion in Munich, Germany on 17 May 2012. As in the past two Champions League seasons, the eight highest ranked nations got two entries to the tournament. The point of entry was changed this season however. In the previous years the national runners-up had to enter the qualification round. With those teams always easing through their groups, with the exception of Umeå in 2010–11, UEFA decided to give those a direct entry to the round of 32. As a result, eight nations which under previous rules would have had direct entry to that round now had to go through the qualifying stage.
