2010–11 Hessenliga
The 2010–11 season of the Hessenliga was the third season of the league at tier five (V) of the German football league system. Although the teams from the German state of Hesse made up the bulk of the clubs in the Hessenliga, the Bavarian side FC Bayern Alzenau played the 2010–11 season in the division as they are members of the Hessischer Fußball-Verband (HFV; Hessian Football Association). As league champions, they were directly promoted to the 2011–12 Regionalliga Süd. The three worst placed teams, Hünfelder SV, 1. FC Schwalmstadt and VfB Marburg, were relegated to their respective Verbandsligen and the 15th placed team, RSV Würges, lost in the playoffs to the runners-up of the three Verbandsligen and thus were also relegated. Hessenliga
The Hessenliga (until 2008 ''Oberliga Hessen'') is the highest football league in the state of Hesse and the Hessian football league system. It is one of fourteen Oberligas in German football, the fifth tier of the German football league system. Until the introduction of the 3. Liga in 2008 it was the fourth tier of the league system, until the introduction of the Regionalligas in 1994 the third tier. Overview The league was formed in 1945 and except for its first two seasons it has always played as one single division. The league was called Landesliga-Hessen until 1950 and actually formed the second tier of southern German football. With the introduction of the 2nd Oberliga Süd in 1950, the Landesliga-Hessen was renamed Amateurliga Hessen. From 1978, it was called Amateur Oberliga Hessen and finally, in 1994 it was renamed Oberliga Hessen. SG Rot-Weiss Frankfurt 01 is a Football in Germany, German association football club from Frankfurt am Main. The association was founded on 11 November 1901 as FV Amicitia 1901 Bockenheim in what is today the city district of Bockenheim. VfB Gießen was a Football in Germany, German football club based in Giessen, Hesse, that last played in the Gruppenliga Gießen-Marburg (VII). KSV Hessen Kassel II
The KSV Hessen Kassel II is a German association football club from the town of Kassel, Hesse. It is the reserve team of KSV Hessen Kassel. Until 2005 the team played as KSV Hessen Kassel Amateure during the times the senior side played in professional football. During the times the first time was outside professional football and since 2005 the team played under its current name. The team's greatest success has been a Hesse Cup win in 1961 and a runners-up finish in the tier three Amateurliga Hessen in 1967–68. The later qualified the club to participate in the German amateur football championship where it was knocked out in the first round. Viktoria Aschaffenburg
SV Viktoria 01 Aschaffenburg is a German football club based in Aschaffenburg, Bavaria. Even though Aschaffenburg is located in Bavaria, Viktoria Aschaffenburg historically played its football in the Hessenliga (V) and the associated Hessian leagues, rather than the Bayernliga (V), against clubs from closer, neighbouring cities. This also reflects in part the history of the region, not traditionally part of Bavaria. The nearby Bavarian club FC Bayern Alzenau has also played in the Hessenliga for the same reasons. 2011–12 Regionalliga
The 2011–12 Regionalliga season was the eighteenth season of the Regionalliga since its re-establishment after German reunification and the fourth as a fourth-level league within the German football league system. It was contested in three regional divisions. The season began on 8 August 2011 and ended on 20 May 2012. The champions of each division was promoted to the 2012–13 3. Liga. This tier of the German league pyramid was expanded to five divisions for the 2012–13 season. No team was relegated to a lower level on competitionally aspects at the end of the season. Kickers Offenbach II
Kickers Offenbach II, is a reserve team of German association football club Kickers Offenbach. The team, which during the times the senior side played in professional football, played as Kickers Offenbach Amateure, has on occasion played as high as the Hessenliga, the highest league in the state of Hesse. History Kickers Offenbach Amateure made a first appearance in higher league football when it won promotion to the Landesliga Hessen-Mitte in 1970 and went on to win this league in its first season there. The team then played in the tier three Amateurliga Hessen from 1971 to 1974 until being disbanded at the end of that season. Eintracht Wetzlar
Eintracht Wetzlar is a German association football club based in Wetzlar, Hesse. History Formed on 30 July 1905 as Wetzlarer Fußball Club, they merged with Wetzlarer Ballspielclub 1910 in 1927 to become Sportverein Wetzlar 05. From the early 30s until the early 40s, the team played second division football until a title win advanced them to the Gauliga Hessen-Nassau (I) for a single season. SC Waldgirmes is a German association football club from Waldgirmes, Hesse. The 700 member club is best known for its football team, but also has departments for table tennis, women's gymnastics, alpine gymnastics, and cycling. History The association was founded in 1929 as ''SG Waldgirmes''. As a worker's side the club was banned for political reasons when the Nazis came to power in 1933 and a number of the footballers left for ''TV 05 Waldgirmes'' where they formed a football department. OSC Vellmar
OSC Vellmar is a German sports club based in Vellmar, Hesse which has departments for budō, weight lifting, handball, inline hockey, Taekwondo, dance, table tennis, gymnastics, and winter sports.
