2010–11 Croatian Football Cup
The 2010–11 Croatian Football Cup was the twentieth season of Croatia's football knockout competition. The defending champions were Hajduk Split, having won their fifth title the previous year by defeating Šibenik in the final. The cup kicked off with the single-legged preliminary round which was played on 25 August 2010. Most of the top flight clubs entered the competition in the following round, played on 21 and 22 September 2010, with the exception of Karlovac and Lokomotiva, as their cup coefficient (determined by their cup record over the last five seasons) was too low to skip the preliminary round. In addition, RNK Split and Zadar, two of the top-level clubs, failed to qualify for the competition. HNK Hajduk Split
Hrvatski nogometni klub Hajduk Split, commonly referred to as Hajduk Split () or simply Hajduk, is a Croatian professional football club based in Split, that competes in the Croatian First League, the top tier in Croatian football. Since 1979, the club's home ground has been the 34,198-seater Stadion Poljud. The team's traditional home colours are white shirts with blue shorts and blue socks. The idea to form a football club was started by group of Split students who were studying in Prague. After observing a game between Slavia and Sparta Prague, the group gathered at the U Fleků tavern and talked of creating a football club at home. When they returned to Split, they put their plan in motion and Hajduk was founded on 13 February 1911. Extra Time
Overtime or extra time is an additional period of play specified under the rules of a sport to bring a game to a decision and avoid declaring the match a tie or draw where the scores are the same. In some sports, this extra period is played only if the game is required to have a clear winner, as in single-elimination tournaments where only one team or players can advance to the next round or win the tournament. The rules of overtime or extra time vary between sports and even different competitions. Some may employ " sudden death", where the first player or team who scores immediately wins the game. In others, play continues until a specified time has elapsed, and only then is the winner declared. NK Vrbovec is a Croatian football club based in the town of Vrbovec in Zagreb County. It was founded in 1924 and is now playing in the third tier of Croatian football, Treća HNL – Center. NK Pazinka
NK Pazinka is a Croatian football club based in the town of Pazin in Istria. Founded in 1948, their greatest success was competing in the Croatian top flight 1. HNL for two seasons between 1992 and 1994. They are currently competing in the Croatian Third Football League. History The club was established in 1948 as part of the SD Pazin sports society. They spent the next few decades in relative obscurity contesting Istrian regional league competitions within the Yugoslav league system. Penalty Shootout (association Football)
A penalty shoot-out (officially kicks from the penalty mark) is a tie-breaking method in association football to determine which team is awarded victory in a match that cannot end in a draw, when the score is tied after the normal time as well as extra time (if used) have expired. In a penalty shoot-out, each team takes turns shooting at goal from the penalty mark, with the goal defended only by the opposing team's goalkeeper. Each team has five shots which must be taken by different kickers; the team that makes more successful kicks is declared the victor. Shoot-outs finish as soon as one team has an insurmountable lead. If scores are level after five pairs of shots, the shootout progresses into additional " sudden-death" rounds. Nogometni klub Zagora Unešić ( en, Football Club Zagora Unešić), commonly referred to as NK Zagora Unešić or simply Zagora Unešić, is a Croatian football club based in Unešić. They currently play in the Croatian Third Football League. The club has 400 members, in spite of being from a village of only 1500 people. History NK Zagora was founded in 1948. One of the club's most significant moments came in its cup runs in 2007–08. Zagora won the 2007 County Cup, in which scorer Ivo Šupe was given a lamb for his efforts.
