2010–11 AIK IF Season
The 2010–11 Elitserien season was AIK's 26th season in the Elitserien ice hockey league. It was AIK's first season in Elitserien since the 2001–02 Elitserien season. The regular season started on 15 September 2010 at home against Linköpings HC and ended on 5 March 2010 at home against Modo Hockey. The following playoffs ended on 27 March for AIK. The season followed AIK's re-establishment in Elitserien, Sweden's top ice hockey league. AIK's first season in Elitserien in nine years was a major success. Despite expected by many hockey experts to be forced to play in the Kvalserien qualification for Elitserien, AIK managed to capture the 8th and last playoff spot. This meant that the team's first playoffs in ten years (the team qualified for the playoffs in the 2000–01 season) was true. Anders Gozzi
Anders Gozzi (born ) is a Swedish former professional ice hockey player and currently the general manager of the AIK IF organization. In his career as a professional ice hockey player he played for AIK, Brynäs IF, and Düsseldorfer EG. In his first season with AIK, in the 1986–87 season, the team became promoted to Elitserien. He played in AIK during the majority of his career, and scored 315 points in 579 Elitserien (SEL) games. He became Elitserien champions with Brynäs IF in the 1992–93 season. He ended his ice hockey player career with AIK in the 2003–04 season, when the team played in HockeyAllsvenskan. He also was the general manager of AIK that season, and in the 2004–05 season he also became an assistant coach, replacing Tomas Winje mid-season. Christopher Heino-Lindberg
Kalle Christopher Jonathan Heino-Lindberg (born January 29, 1985, Helsingborg, Sweden) is a Swedish former professional ice hockey goaltender. In Elitserien, Heino-Lindberg has played in Färjestads BK and AIK. He has played for the Swedish team during the Junior World Championships. In his first season with Färjestads BK, 2005–06, he and the team won the Swedish Championship. Heino-Lindberg was drafted in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft by the Montreal Canadiens, in the 6th round as 177th pick overall. Goaltender
In ice hockey, the goaltender (commonly referred to as the goalie) is the player responsible for preventing the hockey puck from entering their team's net, thus preventing the opposing team from scoring. Overtime is a method of determining a winner in an ice hockey game when the score is tied after regulation. The main methods of determining a winner in a tied game are the overtime period (commonly referred to as overtime), the shootout, or a combination of both. If league rules dictate a finite time in which overtime may be played, with no penalty shoot-out to follow, the game's winning team may or may not be necessarily determined. HV71
HV71 (), often referred to as just HV, is a Swedish professional ice hockey club based in Jönköping, playing in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL), the first tier of Swedish ice hockey. The team played in the 2008–09 Champions Hockey League season, and also participates in the new Champions Hockey League tournament since the 2014–15 season. Between 2008 and 2013, HV also participated in the European Trophy tournament. Kvalserien
Kvalserien, also known as ''Kvalserien till SHL'', was the Swedish round-robin ice hockey tournament to qualify for play in the next season of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL, previously named Elitserien), Sweden's top-level ice hockey league for men. It was replaced by a playoff round in the 2014–15 season. Teams Kvalserien was formed after the regular seasons of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL, previously named Elitserien) and the second-tier league HockeyAllsvenskan had been played. The two worst ranked teams in the SHL and the best four teams in HockeyAllsvenskan formed the league together with the winner of a six-round round-robin tournament between the teams ranked 4–7 from HockeyAllsvenskan.
