2010 World U-17 Hockey Challenge
The 2010 World U-17 Hockey Challenge was an international ice hockey tournament held in Timmins, Iroquois Falls, Cochrane / Kapuskasing, Kirkland Lake, New Liskeard, Ontario, Canada between December 28, 2009 and January 4, 2010. The venues used for the tournament included the McIntyre Arena in Timmins, Jus Jordan Arena in Iroquois Falls, Tim Horton Arena in Cochrane, the Kapuskasing Sports Palace in Kapuskasing, Joe Mavrinac Community Complex in Kirkland Lake, and the New Liskeard Arena in New Liskeard. McIntyre Community Building
{{Unreferenced, date=May 2019, bot=noref (GreenC bot) The McIntyre Community Building was constructed in Schumacher, (Timmins) Ontario, Canada in 1938.The arena (commonly known as the "Mac") contains approximately 1300 seats and has a total capacity of 1931 including standing room. It is currently home to the Timmins Majors AAA Midget Hockey Club which plays in the Great North Midget Hockey League and the Timmins Rock hockey club which plays in the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League. In January 2008, a "McIntyre Ad Hoc Committee" was formed to examine ways to reduce the operating deficit and explore possible upgrades to the aging building. Rocco Niccolas Grimaldi (born February 8, 1993) is an American professional ice hockey forward who is currently playing with the San Diego Gulls of the American Hockey League (AHL). Grimaldi was drafted by the Florida Panthers in the second round (33rd overall) of the 2011 National Hockey League Entry Draft. Laurent Brossoit (born March 23, 1993) is a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender currently playing for the Vegas Golden Knights of the National Hockey League (NHL). Brossoit was selected by the Calgary Flames in the sixth round, 164th overall, of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft and played for the Edmonton Oilers and Winnipeg Jets prior to joining the Golden Knights.
