2010 Turkmenistan President's Cup
Eight teams from seven countries will participate in the 16th edition of the Turkmenistan President's Cup, which will take place in Ashgabat's Olympic Stadium between February 20 and 28. The group toppers clash in the final and stand to win $20,000 while the runners-up get half that amount. The third-placed team will receive $5,000. FC Altyn Asyr
Football Club Altyn Asyr ( tk, link=no, Altyn Asyr futbol kluby), also known as Altyn Asyr Ashgabat or simply Altyn Asyr, which translates to "Golden Century", is a Turkmen football club based in Ashgabat. Founded in 2008, the club competes in the Ýokary Liga, the top tier of Turkmen football. It has remained there ever since, winning the Turkmenistan Higher League championship eight times in a row (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021). The club also won the Turkmenistan Cup for 5 times in 2009, 2015, 2016, 2019 and 2020 and has been regular in AFC Cup recently. The team plays in the Ashgabat Stadium. Football Club Gandzasar Kapan ( hy, Ֆուտբոլային Ակումբ Գանձասար Կապան), commonly known as Gandzasar, is an Armenian football club based in the town of Kapan, Syunik Province. Olympic Stadium (Ashkhabad)
Saparmurat Turkmenbashy Olympic Stadium ( tk, Saparmyrat Türkmenbaşy adyndaky Olimpiýa Stadiony) is a multi-purpose stadium in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, that stood on the site now occupied by the new Olympic Stadium, built between 2013 and 2017. Overview The stadium held 30,000 people and was built in 2003, named for Saparmurat Niyazov. In 2017, it hosted Asian Olympic Council’s Asian Indoor & Martial Arts games that included participation from Australia and wider Oceania. The wider Ashgabat Olympic Park also hosted the 2018 World Weightlifting Championships. In 2007 the Turkmen government decided to reconstruct the stadium and to enlarge it.
