2010 Superbike World Championship Season
The 2010 Superbike World Championship (officially known as the HANNspree SBK Superbike World Championship for sponsorship reasons) was the twenty-third season of the Superbike World Championship. It was the third season in which HANNspree had been the title sponsor of the championship. After Leon Haslam's retirement during the second race at Imola, Max Biaggi became the first Italian winner of the championship, and also claimed the first title by an Aprilia rider. Race calendar and results The provisional 2010 race schedule was publicly announced by FIM on 6 October 2009 with the most notable change from the 2009 season being the dropping of the round at Losail, Qatar. For the first time in series history, races were run on a day other than Sunday, with the races at Miller Motorsports Park being held on Monday 31 May. 2010 Supersport World Championship
The 2010 Supersport World Championship was the twelfth FIM Supersport World Championship season—the fourteenth taking into account the two held under the name of Supersport World Series. The season started on 28 February at Phillip Island and finished on 3 October at Magny-Cours after thirteen rounds. The championship supported the Superbike World Championship at every round. Kenan Sofuoğlu clinched the title at the final round after a season-long battle with Eugene Laverty. Joan Lascorz was also in contention for most of the season but suffered a season-ending injury at Silverstone, however he amassed enough points to claim third place. Donington Park
Donington Park is a motorsport circuit located near Castle Donington in Leicestershire, England. The circuit business is now owned by Jonathan Palmer's MotorSport Vision organisation, and the surrounding Donington Park Estate, still owned by the Wheatcroft family, is currently under lease by MotorSport Vision until 2038. It has a capacity of 120,000, and is also the venue of the Download Festival. Originally part of the Donington Hall estate, it was created as a racing circuit during the period between the First and Second World Wars when the German Silver Arrows were battling for the European Championship. Ducati Corse is the racing team division of Ducati Motor Holding S.p.A. that deals with the firm's involvement in motorcycle racing. Noriyuki Haga
is a Japanese former professional Motorcycle sport, motorcycle racer. He won 43 world championship superbike races during a 25 year racing career, making him one of the most accomplished competitors never to have won a Superbike World Championship. Haga was the runner-up in the championship three times and, four times finished in third place. Circuit Ricardo Tormo, also known as ''Circuit de Valencia'' and officially named ''Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo'', is a motorsport race track located in Cheste (Valencian Community, Spain) and built in 1999. The track is named after Spanish, two-time world champion Grand Prix motorcycle racer Ricardo Tormo (1952–1998), who died in 1998 of leukemia. It has a capacity of 165,000 and a main straight of . Cal Crutchlow (born 29 October 1985) is an English professional motorcycle racer who retired from regular competition after the 2020 season. He is contracted as a test rider for Yamaha Motor Racing, which he is expected to continue in 2022 and 2023. During 2021 he returned to race for two Yamaha teams as a replacement rider in four MotoGP events, and will replace Andrea Dovizioso for the last six events of 2022 after Dovizioso's retirement announced mid-season.
