2010 Speedway World Cup Event 1
The 2010 FIM PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna Speedway World Cup Event 1 was the first race of the 2010 Speedway World Cup season. It took place on 25 July 2010 at the Edward Jancarz Stadium in Gorzów Wielkopolski, Poland. It was scheduled to take place on July 24. However, the meeting was delay because the track was deemed unsuitable by the FIM Jury due to adverse weather conditions. The event was re-staged on the next day at 3pm. Results The event was dominated by host team and the defending champion Poland team who scored 68 points in 25 heats - the highest score ever recorded in the competition for a four-team event (since the 2004 Speedway World Cup). Denmark (45 points, without injury former three-time World Champion Nicki Pedersen) and Russia (31 points, without injury star Emil Sayfutdinov) goes into the Race-off. Adrian Miedziński
Adrian Miedziński (born 20 August 1985 in Toruń, Poland) is a Polish motorcycle speedway rider. Career He has won the Team Under-21 World Champion and Individual Under-21 Polish Champion titles. In 2022, while riding for Bydgoszcz he suffered a serious crash which resulted in him being put into an induced coma due to brain and spinal injuries. Grigory Laguta (born April 9, 1984) is a Russian-born Latvian motorcycle speedway rider. Laguta is current Individual Latvian Champion. He is a three-time Russian champion. In 2017 he was suspended for two years for a doping violation after having used meldonium. Laguta have two speedway licences: Russian (MFR) and Latvian (LaMSF). Jan Stæchmann (born 5 June 1966 in Kolding, Denmark) is a former professional motorcycle speedway rider and manager of the Denmark national speedway team, Danish national team. Nicolai Klindt
Nicolai Klindt (born 29 December 1988 in Outrup, Denmark) is a Danish speedway rider who won the 2007 Individual Under-19 European title. Career In 2006, Klindt won the Danish Under 21 Individual Speedway Championship and followed up the success by winning the 2007 European U19 title. In 2008, he signed for his first British league team Wolverhampton Wolves for the 2008 Elite League speedway season and also won his second Danish U21 title. Niels Kristian Trochmann Iversen (, born 20 June 1982 in Esbjerg, Denmark) is an international motorcycle speedway rider. He was part of the Danish teams that won the Speedway World Cup in 2006, 2008, 2012 and 2014. Early life Niels-Kristian Trochmann was born 20 June 1982 in Esbjerg, Denmark to Ann Marie and Flemming Iversen. Growing up with older brother Soren, Iversen decided he want to be a speedway rider. His local town Esbjerg had a track where Iversen began to learn his desired trade. Quickly moving up the ranks in Denmark, his first title came in 1994 at the 50cc Danish Individual Championship.
