2010 South American Footballer Of The Year
The 2010 South American Footballer of the Year, given to the best football player in South America by Uruguayan newspaper ''El País (Uruguay), El País'' through voting by journalists across the continent, was awarded to Andrés D'Alessandro of Sport Club Internacional, Internacional on December 30, 2010. Andrés D'Alessandro won the award for the first time ahead of two-time holder Juan Sebastián Verón. D'Alessandro became the second Inter player to win the award. Néicer Reasco Yano (born 23 July 1977) is an Ecuadorian retired footballer who played as a defender. Club career Reasco began his professional club career playing for L.D.U. Quito for seven years. After the 2006 World Cup, he joined São Paulo in Brazil for a two-year contract, the only non-Brazilian on the team. In mid-2008, he rejoined his first club. Francisco Guillermo Ochoa Magaña (; born 13 July 1985), commonly referred to as Memo, is a Mexican professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Serie A club Salernitana and the Mexico national team. Ochoa made his senior-level professional debut for Club América in 2004 in a Mexican league match against Monterrey. He won his first league title in 2005 and was the club's first-choice goalkeeper up until 2011, making over 200 appearances for América. That summer Ochoa was transferred to Ajaccio in France. Defensor Sporting Club is a sports club based in Montevideo, Uruguay. Founded in 1913, Defensor has several sports sections, with football and basketball being the most important and the ones in which the club has achieved significant achievements in Uruguay and internationally. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube (), known simply as Cruzeiro, is a Brazilian sports club based in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. Humberto Andrés Suazo Pontivo (; born 10 May 1981), nicknamed ''Chupete'' (in English, ''Lollipop''), is a Chilean professional footballer who plays as a striker for Deportes La Serena.
