2010 South Alabama Jaguars Football Team
The 2010 South Alabama Jaguars football team represented the University of South Alabama in the 2010 NCAA Division I FCS football season. They were led by second-year head coach Joey Jones and played their home games at Ladd–Peebles Stadium. Continuing the Jaguars' slow immersion into Division I football, the Jaguars increased their schedule to ten games (up from seven in their inaugural season), dropped all of their prep school opponents and played three of their ten contests on the road. The Jaguars completed their second season with an undefeated record of ten wins and zero losses (10–0). Joey Jones (American Football)
Joseph Russell Jones (born October 29, 1962) is an American football coach and former player. He is a former special teams coordinator at Mississippi State. He was not retained on Mike Leach's staff after Joe Moorhead was fired. Jones served as the head football coach the University of South Alabama from 2008 to 2017. Provost Umphrey Stadium
Provost Umphrey Stadium (previously Cardinal Stadium) is a 16,000-seat multi-purpose stadium located on the campus of Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. The stadium, home to the Lamar Cardinals football team, is located next to the Montagne Center. While primarily used for football, Provost Umphrey Stadium is also a concert venue with seating up to 20,000 for concerts. The stadium was completely renovated in 2009 and is designed to allow for a future expansion to 28,000. The 2010 Georgia State Panthers football team represented Georgia State University during the 2010 NCAA Division I FCS football season. Georgia State played their first-ever season of football in 2010 and were classified as an independent school, meaning they had no athletic conference affiliation. Bill Curry guided the new program's team to a 6–5 record, while all of their home games are played in the Georgia Dome. The team's first official practice took place on August 14, 2009, and the team played its first official public spring scrimmage at the Georgia Dome on April 10, 2010, before 3,192 fans. UC Davis Health Stadium is a 10,743-seat multi-purpose stadium in the western United States, located on the campus of the University of California, Davis in unincorporated Yolo County, California. The 2010 Lamar Cardinals football season was their first since 1989 and the first for head coach Ray Woodard and his staff. The Cardinals opened up the season on September 4 against arch-rival, #11 McNeese State in Lake Charles. The crowd of 19,235 that filled Cowboy Stadium marked the highest attendance since 2002 for the Cowboys. Lamar quarterback Andre Bevil set a school record for passing yards with 427 yards through the air. The game featured a late fourth quarter surge by the Cardinals with two touch down passes thrown in the final quarter of the game. Bill Bradford Clark (born June 28, 1968) is a retired American football coach. He was the head football coach at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). He held the position from 2014 season until June 24, 2022, when he retired because of health issues dealing with his back.
