2010 Russian First Division
The Russian First Division was the 19th season of Russia's second-tier football league since the dissolution of the Soviet Union. The season began on 27 March 2010. Teams As in the previous year, 20 clubs participate in this year championship. It features eleven clubs from Russian First Division 2009, two clubs relegated from Russian Premier League 2009, five zone winners from Russian Second Division 2009, one of the second-placed clubs from Russian Second Division 2009 and one of the third-placed clubs from Russian Second Division 2009. Movement between Premier League and First Division Anzhi Makhachkala as 2009 champions and Sibir Novosibirsk as runners-up have been promoted to the Premier League. They will be replaced by relegated teams Kuban Krasnodar and Khimki. Russian First Division
The Russian First League (russian: Первая лига, Pervaya liga), formerly called Russian First Division (russian: Первый дивизион) and Russian Football National League (FNL) (russian: Первенство Футбольной Национальной Лиги, Pervenstvo Futbol'noy Natsional'noy Ligi) is the second level of the Russian football league system. The Russian Professional Football League (PFL) used to run the division. Since 2011, it has been managed by the Football National League. The league consists of 18 clubs. After each season the two top clubs are promoted to the Premier League, and the bottom four clubs are relegated to the Russian Professional Football League. Third and fourth team play in home-and-away promotion play-offs against the 13th and 14th Premier League teams. FC Dynamo Saint Petersburg
FC Dynamo Saint Petersburg is a Russian football club from Saint Petersburg, in Northwest Russia. Founded in 1922, the club was one of the oldest in the city. It plays in the third-tier Russian Football National League 2. They were a regular in the Soviet Top League until relegation in 1963. After the dissolution of the Soviet Union, their highest status was in the second-level Russian National Football League for several seasons, and the fifth place in the league is their greatest achievement. In July 2015, the club was purchased by Boris Rotenberg. In June 2018, the team moved to Sochi, becoming PFC Sochi; in Saint Petersburg there remained Dynamo youth team. FC Baltika Kaliningrad
FC Baltika is an association football club based in Kaliningrad, Russia. Currently the club plays in the Russian First League, the second tier of the Russian football pyramid. History The club was founded on 22 December 1954 as ''Pishchevik Kaliningrad''. In 1958 the club was renamed ''Baltika''. The team entered the Soviet League in 1957 and played in Class B (1957–1965), Class A, Group 2 (1966–1970), and Second League (1971–1991). The best result was achieved in 1984, when Baltika won the regional group tournament. FC Dynamo Bryansk
FC Dynamo-Bryansk is a Russian football club based in Bryansk. The team colours are (Home) all blue. (Away) all white with blue shorts. History The club was founded in 1931 by GPU officer Filaret Adamovich. The team initially consisted of players from Baku and Smolensk and played in the Western Oblast league. Dynamo was among the leading teams of the region until 1936, when Bryansk became part of Oryol Oblast and Adamovich left the city. After World War II Dynamo returned to leading roles, now in the newly formed Bryansk Oblast. In 1949 and 1952 the club played in the RSFSR league, and in 1959 they won the Bryansk Oblast championship. The success of 1959 allowed Dynamo to enter the national Class B in 1960. 2010 Russian Premier League
The 2010 Russian Premier League was the 19th season of the Russian football championship since the dissolution of the Soviet Union and ninth under the current Russian Premier League name. The season started on 12 March 2010 and the last matches were played on 29 November 2010. On 14 November 2010, Zenit Saint Petersburg clinched the title after a 5–0 win against Rostov. This season was the last one played during an entire year (March–November), as the Russian Football Union decided to schedule the following seasons in sync with the biggest European football leagues (August–May). Teams Kuban Krasnodar and Khimki were relegated at the end of the 2009 season after finishing in the bottom two places. FC Spartak Vladikavkaz (russian: link=no, Футбольный клуб «Спартак Владикавказ») was a Russian association football, football club based in Vladikavkaz (formerly Ordzhonikidze), North Ossetia–Alania. Founded in 1921, the club played in the Soviet Top League during the communist era, and won its first and only league title in the 1995 Russian Top League. FC Volgograd (russian: ФК Волгоград) is a former Russian football club from Volgograd, founded in late 2008, later reformed as FC Rotor Volgograd. History Before it was founded, it was originally supposed to be called FC Rotor-Volgograd Volgograd (to keep Rotor's name around at the time FC Rotor Volgograd was close to bankruptcy).
