2010 Russian Figure Skating Championships
The 2010 Russian Figure Skating Championships (russian: Чемпионат России по фигурному катанию на коньках 2010) was held from December 23 to 27, 2009 at the Yubileyny Sports Palace in Saint Petersburg. Skaters competed at the senior level in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. The junior championships was held separately. The event was used to help determine the teams for the 2010 Winter Olympics, the 2010 World Championships, and the 2010 European Championships. 2010 World Figure Skating Championships
The 2010 World Figure Skating Championships was a senior international figure skating competition in the 2009–10 season. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. The event was held at the Palavela in Turin, Italy from 22 to 28 March. Qualification The competition was open to skaters from ISU member nations who had reached the age of 15 by 1 July 2009. The corresponding competition for younger skaters was the 2010 World Junior Championships. Based on the results of the 2009 World Championships, each country was allowed between one and three entries per discipline. National associations selected their entries based on their own criteria. Alena Igorevna Leonova (russian: Алёна Игоревна Леонова; born 23 November 1990) is a retired Russian figure skater. She is the 2012 World silver medalist, the 2011 Grand Prix Final bronze medalist, the 2009 World Junior champion, and a three-time (2010–2012) Russian national medalist. She is also the 2014–15 ISU Challenger Series runner-up. Personal life Alena Igorevna Leonova was born on 23 November 1990 in Saint Petersburg (Leningrad). She is the 2010 Skate Canada International silver medalist, 2009 Cup of Nice champion, and 2010 Russian national champion. She represented Russia at the 2010 Winter Olympics, where she placed 10th. Artem Igorevich Borodulin (russian: Артём Игоревич Бородулин, born 9 March 1989) is a Russian former competitive figure skater. He is the 2008 World Junior silver medalist and competed at the 2010 Winter Olympics, finishing 13th. Personal life Artem Borodulin was born on 9 March 1989 in Perm, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union. His younger brother, Sergei, has also competed in figure skating. The brothers moved to Moscow in spring 2006. Career Artem Borodulin began skating at age 5.
