2010 Regional League Division 2 Southern Region
2010 Regional League Division 2 Southern Region is the 2nd season of the League competition since its establishment in 2009. It is in the third tier of the Thai football league system. The league has been expanded from 8 clubs in 2009 to 14 clubs this season. The league winners and runners up will qualify for the 2010 Regional League Division 2 championship stage. Changes from last season Team changes Promoted clubs Narathiwat were promoted to the 2010 Thai Division 1 League after coming 3rd in the 2009 Regional League Division 2 championship pool. Relegated clubs Surat Thani were relegated from the 2009 Thai Division 1 League after finishing the season in 14th place. Relocated clubs Prachuap Khiri Khan re-located from the Regional League Central-East Division 2009 into the Southern Division. Regional League Southern Region
Regional League South Division is the 3rd Level League in Thailand. It was formed in 2009 along with other four other regional leagues, all playing at the same level. The winner of each regional league enter the Regional League Championships to determine the three teams that will receive promotion to the Thai Division 1 League League History Formed in 2009, initially 9 clubs applied to be part of the new setup; Krabi, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Narathiwat, Pattani, Phattalung, Phuket, Satun, Yala and Tartauo. Come decision day, Tartauo either failed to apply on time, or were not accepted into the new setup. Narathiwat and Satun were the only two teams with previous experience in the Thai football league system. Narathiwat won the first ever championship and took the Regional League championship allocation, winning the division on goal difference from Satun. The 2010 season saw the arrival of six new teams. Chumphon
Chumphon ( th, ชุมพร, ) is a town (''thesaban mueang'') in southern Thailand, capital of the Chumphon Province and Mueang Chumphon District. The city is about 463 kilometers (288 miles) from Bangkok. As of 2005 it had a population of 33,522. The town covers the commune (''tambon'') Tha Taphao completely and parts of ''tambons'' Bang Mak, Wang Phai, Na Thung, Tak Daet, and Khun Krathing.
